I enjoyed the ice cream choice that I got which was cookies and cream in a cup. The gentleman that assisted us was quiet and polite. The white lady that sits behind the counter heavyset is rude and ignores you If you ask a question. I will not be returning with my family to be treated poorly as a customer.

Ice cream is not as good as it used to be, it tasted more like ice chips than ice cream. My ice cream also tasted like it had freezer burn. And it is HOT in there! They only accept cash and EBT. But, there is a credit union next door.

I’m unsure of why this place was reference as a staple in the city or some sort of must have‼️

This place is a dump‼️

Where do I start they never had anywhere near 50 flavors of ice cream‼️

Not to mention they, don’t sale hot fudge. At a ice cream parlor 🤔‼️

I should have known better when I saw the sign on the door stating we accept EBT.. only 4 people allowed in store at a time‼️

My wife grew up in STL and raved about the Velvet Freeze Gold Coast Chocolate. She thought Velvet Freeze was gone forever. I found that there was one store still open and surprised her and her family by sneaking out and picking up a bunch and brought it home. All agreed it was exactly as good as they remembered. They had not had velvet freeze in close to 40 years. Truly a rare gem in St. Louis, and a must go for anyone.

Ordered a tornado(float) with sprite. Told they only have root beer and orange. Got a large orange. Got to the car took a sip, the soda was 100% flat. Went rite back in and told them, the lady said they don’t do refunds, asked could I exchange they said no, that is similar to refund, and that it’s like I would be getting something for free. I stated it was not as the product I purchased was not up to par. The worker poured out the ornate soda opened a new vess that did not fizz at all. She let me touch it to see that it was cold. I asked her was it expired she said no but would not let me see the bottle. I asked them to throw it away, she asked if I wanted to eat the ice cream out of it, I them no the stale soda ruined the taste of the entire thing. This was not a cheap tornado it was roughly $9 and the coo was not big. We also purchased cotton candy ice cream that tasted weird, and that’s from a kid who eats that flavor Frequently. We had also purchased separate vess for drinking which were pulled from a separate fridge, hopefully there are not flat as well. This fridge is on the right, the flat sodas are in the left fridge. Overall we spent $30. I have been coming here on and off since childhood, I am not a happy customer and they should do better as we (community and old customers)are keeping them in business.

Charming and a blast to the past! The ice cream is made there and packed into the old 1/ 2 gal style paper cartons. For her BD, I bought a 1/2 gal. of banana ice cream for my wife who grew up in the area and loved it as a kid. She was thrilled and said it tasted every bit as good as it did back when she was a child. Nice people, but bring cash as they don't accept debit cards or CCs.

The quality of ice cream is not good like it used to be. The prices are crazy high. 3 scoops of ice cream costs over $12. They had two jars of pickles sitting on a shelf that were no longer green, they were white. Take your money somewhere else.
