Today, me and some fellow Americans arrived at the Van Trump trail. A great trail, in fact- When we arrived the first thing I said was that this was going to be a great trail. Only true patriots come to this trail.
This trail will make hiking great again.
A wonderful trail.
Not like those crooked trails they talk about in the fake media. Believe me.
The trail was tough, but we climbed.
We did a good job.
Nobody climbs like us.

This is one of my favorite hikes at Mt. Rainier NP. The start of the hike up to Comet falls is a nice woodsy trail along the river with a few obstructed small waterfall views. A 3 tier waterfall will greet you at the top before you cross the river (a very sturdy bridge to cross the river was built in 2022 so the crossing is not dangerous). Once you make it to Comet Falls the views of that waterfall are spectacular. But don't stop there! Keep going about another 1.2 miles up to Van Trump Park. It's a steep but not to too technical climb and once you make it Van Trump it offers amazing open views of the mountain. You can continue to hike past Van Trump park, but the trail is no longer maintained and is more technical, but a continued hike about 1/2 mile up steep terrain opens up to a completely unobstructed view of Rainier, including waterfalls on the mountain and views of Mt. Adams and Mt. St. Helens to the south. It was about 2700 feet to get to this point and took me about 2 hours of steady hiking to get there, but well worth it. Make sure to show up early to the parking lot as it fills up quickly with limited parking

Absolutely beautiful high country experience!! Trail above Comet falls is lightly strenuous and one can finish their hike in the upper flanks as required always enjoying spectacular views!!
Bug spray should not be forgotten as many are quite hungry I found out!!!

Beautiful hike, well worth going past Comet Falls for. But be sure to continue pas the maintained trail section, it just gets better the higher up you go.

Amazing views. Go to the top to Van Trump park at least. Not crowded. Absurdly beautiful comet falls. Woooorth it
