my wife and I put in a to go order, my wife ordered boneless mango habanero wings. After opening the box and seeing the wings had very little sauce my wife went back in to ask for a couple more cups of the sauce for her wings, they tell her they couldn’t find the sauce to give them a minute. After a few minutes of looking they come out and inform my wife that they just put hot buffalo sauce on her wings because the kitchen couldn’t find the right sauce when they originally made them. They did not inform me of this when I originally picked up the food and did not mention it until my wife went back in. They did offer to remake the wings properly but the fact that it was made incorrectly and had my wife not gone back in we would not have known until getting home will stop us from ordering again

Great "hole in the wall" in Safford! The service was great..considering they are a small restaurant with a small wait staff they were EXCELLENT. The waitress/bar tender was phenomenal and was super pleasant.
We ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich, a bacon cheeseburger, a pretzel, pickle chips, and boneless wings. Everything was hot and delicious.
The pickle chips could be more crunchy, but no complaints on the taste.
Wonderful place. Treat the wait staff kindly when you stop by!

This was a hard one. On the one hand, I’m encouraged that they make their own French fries and ranch dressing, and probably a number of other things on their menu, but the execution is what’s lacking. House made fries are great, except for then they aren’t, and these…aren’t.

But hey, I also acknowledge that fries are a subjective experience. Some folks like them crispy and nicely seasoned. Others prefer them soft, soggy, and bland. If you’re among the former, ditch this place.

If you’re a fan of a nice, juicy burger, you can also continue driving right on by, because the thin pre-packaged patties will surely disappoint you. My burger was more sauce and veggies than meat. But hold on, I absolutely LOVE my veggies and sauces! It’s just, the ratio of meat to other goodies was just, lacking, shall we say. Couldn’t even taste the patty, nor could I distinguish it from the sauciness of it all.

Overall, Trailhead Hideaway does okay. For reference, I was here just after lunch service on a Monday afternoon. Service wasn’t slow, but it wasn’t quick, either. I bet it’s a good time on a packed weekend night, if you’re just here for the drinking.

I'm conflicted because I love a good dive, but the food and service was awful. I read reviews to select this place and all I have to say about the food is, "I guess if you're drunk enough any burger is the best burger in town."
The bars on the window definitely indicate that it's a totally safe place to hangout after darkness falls - an indication of a true dive bar.
People in various states of intoxication were scattered across the establishment - which quickly let me know this is my kind of place (dive).
The toilet seat in the women's restroom was in a state of true dive bar status - you could see the wood base through the peeling paint of the seat.
This definitely looks like the type of place where people pee in the parking lot.
The bull riding and hunting on the various TVs definitely scored bonus points.

Don't go for the decor, it's a bar.
The food on the other hand is quite tasty. Burgers are spot on. Friendly service. Full bar of course. Chelsea is always up beat and happy to oblige.
+ they have taco Tuesday.

I ordered the dbl bacon cheese burger to go for lunch and was very impressed at how well everything was prepared. You wouldn't think much of it, just lookn at this joint and it comes off as more of a bar than a place to grab a bite...but bars serve great food an this place was no exception. The cook back there is working with the bare minimum of tools and he still manages to pull off one of the best- if not thee best burgers in Safford. The fries were also pretty good and you can really appreciate the fact that they make their own. All in all...considering portion, taste, freshness and price? I give it a solid 9 out of 10.

Arrived at the Trail Head Hideaway bar just as the lunch crowd was beginning to leave. We found a table and sat down. The waitress was running the whole time, bussing tables, taking orders, tending bar, and delivering food. We ordered our food, and it took the waitress 15 minutes to bring us our drinks. After a waiting for another 40 minutes, 55 total minutes later, we paid for our drinks and left hungry. What a disappointment!

Stopped by on a recommendation of a friend. Probably the best burger I've ever had with the ghost pepper Jack cheese. Not to hot or overpowering...amazing. food came fast with a smile. I truly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great meal in a friendly environment.
