Worth the drive if you're in the St. Louis area. This restaurant has a variety of craft beers, sandwiches, and burgers. I had the patty melt and I highly recommend the sweet potato waffle fries. This venue also has an event space and when I was dining there was an event going on. I also had the black cherry ? soda and it was also very good.

Our team decided to start here because of the organic and vegan options for me. Overall the place is great! They need to do something with the entrance to pull one towards the actual bar/restaurant. I was initially confused when I walked through the door and then just blindly walked and got lucky.

The beer selections were decent and the local spirit selections were a bit confusing, but we figured it out . My team enjoyed their meals, even if they were basic. Service was great, and the atmosphere was also pretty awesome once you got to the business end of Bakery.

I will have no problem recommending this place. It seems like they try to be family oriented, but then we are heavy haul drivers so not many kids are with us. but at the end of the day, I highly recommend supporting local businesses even if I am 1000 miles away from home!

Alton Illinois has won my heart for one night!

Great micro brewery in the heart of downtown Alton. Lots of rotating taps to choose from. They also have a decent food menu if you get the munchies. We did a couple flights of 4 so we could try many of the beers.

This pub/brewery is housed in a historic bakery building overlooking the Mississippi River. The beer is great! The food is excellent. Must go to location when you visit Alton.

Seat cushions just made this spot a 5/5! It sounds silly but we've opted to not dine here in the past due to uncomfortable seating. Great atmosphere and staff! One of our favorite spots.

Staff were exceptionally nice, attentive, and helpful.

Food was very good..(chili needs more spice, lol)

Atmosphere was comfortable and fun. PLENTY of room between tables.

Surprised by the quality of the beers. Definitely adventuring back again.

We loved that the restaurant was located in the old Colonial Bread Factory. It is a really neat spot with plenty of seating. The atmosphere was fun! You grab a menu when you enter the restaurant, pick your table and go get in line to order your food. They bring you your food when it is ready. The food was very good but we didn't feel like the servers seemed interested in helping us very much which was disappointing since we really enjoyed everything else about the restaurant.

The Old Bakery Beer Company was born in early 2015 after we were introduced to the beautiful old Colonial Bakery building in downtown Alton, IL. Part of the building started its life as a bakery in the late 1800's. After a fire in 1929 and a series of remodels, additions, and changes in ownership, the building remained a bakery until the early 1980's when it shut down. We have tried our best to keep the building's history alive, and our name is just a small piece of that endeavor.
