I went there with my old roommate because I wanted to avoid going to Starbucks and support a smaller business.
However, I ordered an 4.50 large iced coffee and ended up playing 8 dollars. The barista failed to mention that a splash of non dairy milk was an extra dollar as well as a single pump of flavor was an additional dollar as well.
4.50 is purely for black iced coffee.
I did a double take and asked the cashier if I may have gotten charged incorrectly and nope she reassured me I was wrong.
Not to mention that by the time I walked out the ice was already melted and the drink had no flavor whatsoever despite me paying 2 dollars for the “flavor” the pictures I added are taken minutes after I ordered my luxurious 8 dollar coffee.

I don’t want to give my money to Starbucks but needless to say I would have gotten a more stateful coffee there for less the price.

Despite that, the coffee shop is really cute and nice nice to sit there and work
and the owner is a very kind and has now offered gluten free options which I will give him credit for.

Cute, quaint, coffee shop with good coffee and a comfortable atmosphere. Music wasn’t too loud. They have a nice big community board in the back. Service was good too!

This review is for the food items, as the coffee, service and brightly lit, comfortably appointed shop were just fine. I had the broccoli and cheese quiche which smelled and tasted good. However, I also had a bagel, which was stale and hard - warming it could not redeem it. I also had an apple fritter and a cinnamon roll. Both were visually appealing and fresh. The frosting on the cinnamon roll was tasty but for the cake portion of the roll as well as the fritter there was only a subtle hint of cinnamon and apple respectively. I prefer my pastries to not stop at being suggestive, but to live up to their names and deliver a full flavor experience. That was not the case with these, so when I return, I'll stick with coffee.

This is such a cute place! I've gone twice and plan to go back tomorrow for their official grand opening. It's nice that they remembered me from coming in last week and tried to remember my name. It shows they care. Their pastries from local bakeries are incredible. I highly recommend checking it out.

One of the best coffee shops in the neighborhood, and owner’s welcoming personality makes it worth visiting again and again.

Discovered this cozy eclectic neighborhood shop walking my dogs in Edgewater this morning. Bright, busy, lots of great seating, STRONG coffee (yeah baby, gonna get a lot done today!) and Roxy music in the background. Great little spot.

As the designated Realtor for Edgewater, Chicago by the Chicago Association of Realtors (CAR) - Diversity 77 Committee, my favorite past time is stopping by our communities local businesses and I must say, I truly love the latte's at "The Lost Hours Coffee Shop". For anyone driving through Edgewater, Chicago, this is a MUST coffee shop to stop by into. The owner, Tim is amazing! He is a Edgewater resident and loves what he does. This past November 2024 they celebrated their 1 year of being open. Tim, doesn't only have coffee on the menu, he also offers amazing pastries and baked goods from other local businesses on his menu as well. Yesterday, I hosted an event at "The Lost Hours" and learned more about the artist that Tim features for the coffee shops murals and that local customers are incorporated into the murals. How wonderful is that?!

I love this place! I was looking for something new in the neighborhood and saw it was a short walk from my apartment. The coffee and pastries are just as good as the customer service. They greet everyone as if they’re longtime friends!
