Cute li’l coffee shop vibe with a li’l more heartier and tastier food options than would typically be available at a plain ol’ coffee shop.

Service was friendly and helpful. She said they’re gonna start an evening wine thing that sounds like it could be a really cool place to chill and chat over a glass or 3.

Expert opinion: Strawberry cream cheese is the best. It’s not good-it’s great.

Panini was yummy and hot.

Orange juice was gooder than most.

Awesome music selection.

Tons’o free parking in the parking lot and lots of other shops and things nearby.

You have to go outside for bathrooms, but they’re clean. I wanted to give one less star for this, but I like this place so much I’ll keep it at FIVE STARS!

Sunrise Cafe at Kauai offers a delightful breakfast experience with high-quality food, but it comes with a steep price tag. During our visit, we enjoyed the smashed avocado and hashed potatoes, which was delicious. However, at $24 per plate, the portion felt lacking, consisting only of one egg, avocado, and potatoes, without any additional sides like toast. Ideal price for this dish should be around 15-16$ , and nothing more.

The cappuccino was also well-made and enjoyable. Despite the excellent taste of the food, the lack of a view or unique ambience, combined with the high prices, makes it a less attractive option considering the other dining choices available in Kauai.

For those willing to splurge on breakfast, Sunrise Cafe is worth a try, but for others, the cost may be a deterrent.

You need to get your silverware from the front, along with napkins and water. Only food is served at table.

Parking is plenty and available .

The place is relatively new, so the interior is clean and neat. There’s plenty of parking space too. While the menu isn’t very extensive, it’s a good spot for brunch. The coffee and drinks are unique and delicious. However, the prices seem a bit higher compared to other brunch cafes.

Waffles need help. Otherwise, the food was great! Coffee was excellent. The wait time wasn't long for how busy it was.

Service... almost everyone was super friendly! Foodrunner, server, busser, even the dishwasher 🙂

Super stoked to have a breakfast option in kapaa! Looking forward to trying them again.

Sunrise Cafe in Kauai is a must-visit! The Mac Nut Banana waffle was incredible—perfectly cooked with the ideal blend of sweetness and crunch. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure every need was met. Excellent food and service!

My wife and I recently spent our honeymoon on Kauai Island, and Sunrise Café quickly became our go-to spot. We found ourselves returning almost every other day, drawn by the consistently exceptional experience.

The Brisket Benedict at Sunrise Café is a standout dish. Each bite offers tender, flavorful beef paired with perfectly poached eggs and a luscious hollandaise sauce that ties everything together beautifully. It quickly became one of our favorites, and we eagerly looked forward to it each visit.

The service at Sunrise Café is simply amazing. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The staff’s attentiveness and friendliness made every meal feel special. They truly went above and beyond to make our dining experiences enjoyable and memorable.

Their coffee deserves a special mention as well. With the best taste of any café on the island, each cup was a perfect start to our day. Whether you prefer a simple black coffee or a more elaborate espresso drink, the quality and flavor are outstanding.

The café's décor is another highlight. It’s well put together, with a blend of modern elegance and island charm that creates a welcoming atmosphere. The seating arrangements are both stylish and comfortable, whether you choose to sit indoors or on the patio. This thoughtful design made it a perfect place to relax and enjoy our meals.

I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the island.

Hawaii Travel with Kids

We've gone to their location in Hanamaulu for years so I was really excited to check out their new Wailua store. It's right across from the Kinipopo Shopping Center. The staff was super friendly and there were already several people in the store at 7am. They only serve food on certain days, so check their site before you go. I had the vanilla macadamia nut latte with macadamia nut milk and it was super good. I love that they have such a large coffee menu.
