This library is a wonderful community asset. It provides services, education, entertainment, and safety.

Unfortunately, a historic Lewis & Clark Library, a mid-century modern structure filled with light, beauty, and art was unnecessarily destroyed. The new building includes just three of the enameled glass panels from the dozens in the original building designed by architect Fred Dunn.

I’ve added five color photographs I took of the original 1950s era library which was demolished to allow for a larger parking lot.

My family and I attended the Juneteenth celebration hosted by the Lewis and Clark branch library. We had a really good time! There was a DJ, two food trucks where participants received free food, games, and just all around summer fun! The library itself is a goof one to visit too. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. The location has lots of programs for all ages and staff is always ready to help you when you need assistance with things even offering programs and telling you about things you didn’t know about.

I love my local library. There is always something to do. Everyone gets $5 worth of free printing a month, and that goes a long way. There is are so many books. And if they don’t have the book you need, you can have it brought to this library from another library and have it put on hold just for you! There are also DVDs, CDs, Audiobooks…instruments, games, electronic devices…you can get free menstrual supplies, free diapers, social workers come in, legal help comes in, BJC healthcare comes in..I’ve seen workshops on gardening, DJing, crocheting, computer use…and every 1st Thursday of the month there is a live professional jazz band. Kids get free meals in the summer and the staff is very helpful and kind. I love how every neighborhood has a library. It’s a wonderful space to bring community together.

The people that work there were extremely helpful even though the information I had was very unorganized and confusing. They even actually took the time to correct the issues and I got to leave with a ligament physical library card with the design of my choice and also the product I was trying to reserve I the first place. Later, I asked for more help basically at closing time, yet they still patiently and happily helped me anyway, when they could've easily told me to come back another time. I so appreciate them and am so very grateful. It's also very big, clean, and organized. With so much negativity in this city this was a wonderful experience I will never forget. I definitely would recommend a visit to this location.

Had to send a fax and also have documents scanned and emailed. All done at no cost! Yes, free! The library is now fully open. Even checked out a book.

The classes and programs offered to adults, teens, and young people are so educational and sometimes fun!
Teachers are patient with the kids and seniors.
Very clean and organized.
Restroom facilities very clean.
