This place is a beautiful forest preserve that helps protect the local water supply. The streams are pristine. There are beautiful old groves of gnarly mountain laurel. I hiked the orange loop in mid-october near the end of a sunny day. The late afternoon sunlight, coupled with the woods and streams make this a magical place!!. Parking for 5 cars. Watch closely for the entrance sign at the Sid of the road in the woods.

This is a beautiful forest, especially in the spring when the stream is running strong. The hike can be a little confusing and easy to loose your way if unfamiliar. Use AllTrails or Gaia to help with that. The outside loop is about 2 miles. Lots of tree roots on the paths.

Back again early spring a year later… still gorgeous here! Came late afternoon after raining all day, not a problem to navigate here, easy to get around the few puddles, no bugs.

Very woodsy paths. Easy to follow except when our excessive rains flooded path. Bring bug spray and watch for ticks. Map could be better.

Conviently close by and regularly maintained. Short, long or in between, you can customize a pleasant and easy walk in the woods. Be prepared for bugs and dogs. Check yourself and your dog for ticks after. You are supposed to keep your dog leashed but many people do not. Enjoy!

Nice hiking area but the markings of trails are not clearly marked we got lost a few times and ended up on private water supply property. Also dogs need to be leashed at this property, I have 2 dachshunds that hike with me everywhere on leashes, we ran into a family that had a large hunting hound off the leash within a few minutes of them getting there dog secured and passed by eachother this dog was aging let off the leash and we were charged down by this dog. My dogs safety comes first and it it were to attack i would have taken action not resulting in a good outcome. Not like it was a friendly dog trying to play it was trying at attack my small dogs. NOT ACCEPTABLE. BE WEARY
