Wonderful trainer, facility, and horses! I started taking lessons with Katie a few months ago and I couldn't be happier. She's an excellent trainer--extremely knowledgeable, patient, explains things well, matched me with a dream horse, and she's funny! I'm an older rider and still a beginner, yet this is not an issue at her facility. She trains riders at all levels & I'm making good progress in a short time because she's great at what she does. She has an indoor arena so I've been able to ride through the winter, and the center is less than 4 miles from Pullman. The horse she chose for me is extremely well-trained & responsive, and she's content and affectionate, which is very important to me. You can tell a lot about a facility and the trainer by how the horses behave. When you come into this stable, the horses here have their ears up & forward, and like to to have their necks or faces scratched. It's clear that they are used to be handled kindly & competently.and that they like people. I've only had one other trainer, and she's at the L.A. Equestrian Center. I moved here from California in late August and was worried I wouldn't find anyone else like Jacq (Toadstool Farm), but Katie is fantastic. I feel very lucky to have found Serenity & that Katie is taking new students.

This facility is overloaded and unorganized. Trying to sort out lessons is a nightmare, and you're liable to get three different answers from three different people. That, and learning on a horse that needed a whip from the ground as encouragement to perform at all sucked.

I decided to try this location out because I liked the facilities and all the high reviews made me feel confident, but the way the horses were treated and the structure of the lessons put me off. I felt I didn't learn much at all, and the horsemanship lessons are better tuned to younger audiences or those learning about horses from ground zero. Regarding lessons, expect to be treated like an afterthought when you're paying to learn. Maybe other people will have different experiences here.

When I was originally looking for somewhere to ride, I had someone who knows the place warn me about this barn. I went ahead and tried it out anyway, and it was a bummer of a mistake. Drive further and ride elsewhere, you'll learn more. At least, I am.

Spent a birthday party for little ones here. My kids had about 20 rides and lived it and still wanted more. The pony keepers were pleasant and kind yet authoritative as needed with large animals to keep the kids safe. 3 ponies and a horse that weren't spooked by shouts, running children, flying balls into their way. VERY SAFE PONIES! I highly recommend for many purposes.

Great staff and coaching! We were just in town for a family visit and they made time for a quick lesson even in the heat!

Absolutely no consistency in horse care, many horses are severely underweight, stalls not consistently cleaned, and many of the lesson horses being used are clearly unsound. Both arenas are basically gravel, and they fed low quality hay, which I found moldy on multiple occasions.

I boarded here for 2 years and after having to move out of state due to work, I miss this place! During the two years I was there, I fed and cleaned horses' stalls a few mornings a week to reduce the rate of my board (which I really appreciated and it also let me get a good understanding of all the work necessary to run a boarding facility). Having been a few other places, I now realize what a great job they do there. Stalls are cleaned with each feeding (a.m. and p.m.) Horses are turned out as often as weather allows and the barn aisle is cleaned each day. They also implement a fly management system to greatly reduce number of insects in the barn. Each stall has an automatic water unit and attached run. There are two arenas, one outdoor and an indoor. I really took the indoor for granted because now I Iive in an area where the winters are just as long but there is no covered arena except for the county arena 20 mins away. Many positive features that are difficult to find in a small town like Pullman.
