Driving through and stopped there on fish Friday. The catfish nuggets were so good! A definition of a whole in the wall place. So glad we stopped.

My wife and I eat here a couple times a week. Always great daily specials with a good selection of comfort foods. The staff are efficient, sweet, and make you feel like family.

If I could give less than a star I would! Extremely poor service!
Well we tried to try the pit stop today... Didn't go so well. We sat down at a dirty table I wiped off with a wet paper towel from the little water sink, and then other people came in and their tables were bussed and the waitresses were friendly with them 20 minutes went by and finally a lady came asked for our order we placed it, the spagetti special and a cheeseburger and mushrooms, more people came in everyone (seems like they were all regulars they knew staff by name and staff knew them by name)but us had been greeted friendly and served spaghetti and cheese burgers a few even left, at this time we had been waiting for another 45 minutes (65 total) then they announced their out of spaghetti but yet we still haven't been served even though others who came in and ordered the same things after us have done eaten and left. At the announcement of no more spaghetti my dad got up and said "I'm done I need to pay for our drinks and I am done then " a waitress named Stormy got upset and began yelling at us. I just walked out very poor service all together but I guess if it's your regular spot they would be pretty friendly and a good place to go. Anyone else though this place is terrible

Our GPS took us through the country side to Nashville! We stopped here to have a bite. Small cozy place, but great food and service. They don’t have Wi-Fi though 😉 Awsome people.

Okay... Let's see here...

The Prompt says:

"Share more about your experience..."

Well, I'm going to give it my Best Shot... but I am Probably going to Crater THIS Review, just like Everything Else I ever did in Clay City, Illinois from the Time I arrived in Sixth Grade thru my Graduation from High School!!!

(I Really was beyond Redemption... and I haven't Changed much in over 40 years!)

Now, The Pit Stop is One of a Kind... and also The Last of it's Kind in Clay City as far as I know which ain't much, really...

It's a Tiny Little Cafe... In a Tiny Little Town that has seen Time try to leave it in the Dust.

Again and Again... and again...

... it's also as Close to the Kitchen We had as Kids Growing Up in "Oxtown" both Literally and Figuratively.

Now, Remember that Delicious Sensation of Sneaking into the Kitchen in the Middle of the Night when You were a Young Teenager?

Your Hungry... for Something... ANYTHING!!!

You tippy-toe through the House, trying not to Wake Up anybody...

(WAIT, don't forget THAT Creaky Floor Board... watch out for the Cat's Tails... and God Forbid the Dogs Wake Up because THOSE DOGS can and will WAKE UP the ENTIRE COUNTY!!!)

Remember how it Felt to Open the Door of the Fridge (and Here, We Still Called 'em Iceboxes) and Stealthily begin to Gather whatever You could to make a Forbidden Sandwich?...

...Remember being discovered by Your Little Sister and trying to keep Her QUIET by helping Her make a Sandwich, too?...

...Remember when Your BIG SISTER turned on the Lights, Woke Up the Dogs (and then when the Dogs knew, EVERYBODY WAS AWAKE)...

... And Your BIG SISTER said...

"MOM Said that YOU are SUPPOSED to STAY OUT of the REFRIGERATOR!!!"

... And then...

Mom enters... followed by the Cats... totally unfazed... Makes a Cup of hot "Instant Whatever"... Sits down in a Chair on a Floor that isn't quite level and asks...

"You Kids Hungry, Too?"

THAT'S The Vibe of the Pit Stop Cafe in Clay City, Illinois!

... and If I'm Lying, I'm Dianne!
