This place is the BEST when it comes to coffee and tea as a combo. They have an excellent selection of both, with some very interesting non-coffee/tea options as well. The Cold Brew Cream Soda is phenomenal and very novel. I’d drink it any day. Also the place looks amazing aesthetically.

Stopped by for a quick breakfast on the way to Tower Grove farmers market. The cafe is tucked into the corner of an industrial complex on a one way street off the main thoroughfare. We found parking easily in the back and made our way inside. There was no line and the person at the counter greeted us with a big smile! They had a small case of pastries and a menu on the counter that we quickly perused. We ended up getting an iced mocha and iced vanilla latte as well as a blueberry muffin and peach pop tart (they have homemade pop tarts which we were super excited for) and found a seat at a bar height table by the front door where we could watch the traffic go by. They warmed up our snacks which was super sweet and both items were absolutely delicious! The blueberry muffin was supper soft and moist with the perfect amount of Blueberries and a crispy powdered sugar top. The peach poptart was so good my partner went back for a second one!! Both of our iced lattes were wonderful and flavors were well balanced and we thought they were well sized for the price as we were able to sip them awhile and play a game while there. Overall I definitely understood why so many people had recommended this cafe to me and would definitely visit more if we lived closer! The warm environment and delicious snacks were the perfect start to our morning 🫶

Pipers Tea & Coffee is a quaint, bougie little gem in South St. Louis. Big city attitudes for no reason in an unfailingly midwestern shop. Very cutesy. Inauthentic. Great lighting. Drinks and pastries are delicious. I appreciate the woke artwork showcasing “diverse” artists and depictions of worldly travels, as well as the impromptu unsolicited English lesson provided to me by one of the employees 🥰.
I wholeheartedly agree with many of the reviews here that the employees should be compensated more GENEROUSLY. ❤️ Depending on who you are and what you look like, it might not be evident just how SERIOUSLY they take their role in this line of work, with several really trying their best to look like they are working hard.
Then there are the few to whom being kind and genuine to others in the community comes so effortlessly that I have to wonder if their gifts are being recognized at all by the management in this place.
In addition to higher wages, wellness or SEL resources might encourage some of these people to pursue more humbling life experiences in addition to simply impostering pictures of them up on their wall and marketing trendy disingenuous “inclusivity” energy (not sure if this was meant to be ironic or not; if so, nice work 💯 ) with unwelcoming looks on their faces.
Great damn cup of coffee though! Looking forward to my next visit to Quick Trip for subpar coffee and positive community interactions.

Piper's has been a staple in my St. Louis coffee rotation for the last year or so -- I have yet to have a drink that I didn't love and the pastries I've tried have been great too! I'm usually not one to complain, but the last few times I've been to get some work done I have been distracted by the volume of the music they're playing. I don't mind some background noise at all, but when I can't tune it out through my headphones at top volume, it becomes an issue to me. Just something to note for a coffee shop that has a mix of people coming to chat and work quietly!

What a cute and classy coffee & tea place!
There are lots of options to choose from. And they have a lot of non-dairy milk options.

I also got a gooey putter danish which was delicious.

Highly recommend this place.

Street parking, so if it's super busy, you may have to walk a few blocks.

My absolute favorite coffee spot! Pipers offers the CUTEST seasonal drinks that are all delicious! Great study spot as well.

This place is so elegant and classy. Absolutely beautiful coffee shop! My companion and I adored the drinks, lounge chairs, and perfect atmosphere to study, read, or just sip and enjoy your coffee. They also did something with their iced lattes that I haven’t seen in any Saint Louis coffee shops yet: they made them hot first and then kept the foam after adding the ice! This made for a fluffy and delightful cold coffee drink, perfect for the summers day that we visited.
They also have an extensive drink menu which includes classic espresso drinks, as well as cold brew soda (which was interesting!), and tea drinks and tea lattes for non coffee-drinkers. The only thing they are missing, in my opinion, is some light eats to go with the coffee! Such as some pastries would have been nice.
In any case, my companion and I have been here twice now an loved it both times. Also worthy mention: the great window seats and lots of natural sunlight!
