Phoenix Yoga's classes on the Morse Green by the beach are pure summer. Scott is a wonderful teacher, and the classes encourage flexibility, mindfulness, intention and overall toning. The class is outside on the grass with a view of the beach, can't get much better than that. Oh but also, it's free, but folks donate as they can. Thank you, Scott and team, for the wonderful peaceful yoga experience!

I love these classes and community. Scott and Tarah are wonderful teachers and being able to take classes outside is amazing. I have deepened my practice and always leave feeling better than I came. All classes I've taken...and its been many of the years is inclusive for all, not just super bendy gumby young people. And its free! But you should donate! And walk along the beach after Sunday class is a bonus.

I am a beginner in that I've done yoga only very sporadically and casually over my lifetime. Typically, I would not describe yoga as my favorite physical activity. Scott's class at the Morse Beach green space was amazing. He has a calming demeanor and a clear and thoughtful way of teaching that made me feel connected with the community around me, the Earth, and myself. I have some minor physical limitations and did not feel limited by this at all as Scott made me feel comfortable doing any needed modifications. His class felt nourishing for both my mind and body and I would highly recommend for all levels of yoga practice and even for those who think yoga is not for them!

The Phoenix Yoga project is such a gift to the community! I go to Scott’s morning weekend classes by the lake and they are a staple of my summers. The classes are always a nice level of beginner-friendly but with some more challenging elements. Scott is a wonderful teacher who meets everyone where they’re at and creates a comfortable and safe environment.

We made it all the way to November 17 for outdoor classes with Scott this year. Can't wait for outdoor classes to resume next spring (2025). In the meantime, I'll be stretching with Tara indoors.
One of the best things of summer in Chicago is Phoenix Yoga in the park, and you know Chicago in the summer is the best! Phoenix Yoga is donation based and super-inclusive. The classes are meant for anyone, total beginner to advanced. Scott is an amazing teacher, and he sets the tone for all the teachers & classes. We know people who've moved out of the U.S. and still miss these classes! So if you're in Chicago, check them out.

Scott is an excellent instructor, always giving careful and thoughtful instructions and changing up the practice and focal area every week. It is the highlight of my week to be able to do yoga at the beach all summer long (and beyond) with such an experienced and joyful instructor.

Love love love the Phoenix Yoga Project! I've attended outdoor yoga classes with Scott and Keralee and always leave really refreshed and glad I came. You can't beat guided breathing, movement, beach views and with your neighbors.
