I think I’ll wait about five years before I go to this place again. The old woman who is the volunteer who is supposed to process everybody who comes in for the food pantry is rude and very, very slow!I am an ex-teacher and I wasn’t always poor, thank you America! As it is, though, I have noticed particularly in the DuPage County area that many of the people who are the volunteers can be rude. But this woman is the only one that I have seen in the Wheaton Glen Ellen area, who is extremely rude to the people who come in. I was trying to translate using my phone while I spoke to some women, who had come to partake of the food. The old woman volunteer with her short gray hair very rudely told me if I was taking a phone call to take it outside! I told her no and she got very angry as if nobody had ever told her no! I told her that I was translating so that I could communicate with the women. This old woman has been there for quite a few years to say the least, and I don’t think that she speaks one single word of Spanish. She’s constantly rude to the immigrants who don’t speak English. She does not make an effort to be understood by the people who come in to the food pantry. She expects them to understand her. Another major example of white entitlement in the suburbs. How do I know this? Because I am white and I have seen the entitlement having grown up in DuPage county. I guess you get what you pay for though. But this old woman needs to be given a different task or be told to go home and pour herself a cup of tea. Again, I will never go here again as long as she’s there and I’ll tell others the same.

The community center has given my family many opportunities through their family programs and assistance. I could not thank them enough for all they've done and continue to do in the Carol Stream community. From preschool and childcare programs to rental assistance and Christmas gifts. This place truly deserves five stars. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. If english is not your first language, then they will do their best to communicate with you. They won't leave you empty-handed in any situation.

Outreach is such a great program, I’m a young single mom and outreach has helped me get back into school. Helped me with my tuition and I can’t wait to graduate all thanks to them. Lisa has been so much help with motivating me to do better and always giving an extra hand. Outstanding program & woman

This place is an outrage maybe just to me maybe they are different for others I hate I got in the situation I did but I couldn't stop a fire from happening I been getting the run around for 3 months now for their help I spoke with Bridgett back in december and was told the process never heard back from her called back a week ago and she had me bring paper work she told me she could help told me to reach out to another place and was told they would help also and to have them call her. She put me on hold to make sure they had the funds to help me and she came back and said they could. So wednesday I called left a message Friday still no response so I spoke with the office manager Gloria on Friday and was told it was not put in writing so it's just my word I didn't know I was on trial I thought I was in need of help. So she told me that hopefully Bridgett would get back to me sometime next week but rent was due Thursday
