This is a beautiful park with a very nice playground. Nice field to throw a football or kick a ball around. Plenty of parking right there. We love to ride over on the weekends when there are tons of other kids (we have a 6 year old). There are benches (uncovered) all around and a little covered area if needed. Plenty of shade too. Very nice park ?.

Moccasin Slough Park offers a convenient and inclusive outdoor experience for families. A highlight of the park is its massive playground structure, featuring various climbing options and multiple slides. The covered picnic shelter is a nice addition, offering a spot for outdoor meals and relaxation. The proximity to a body of water, presumably from the St. Johns River, adds a serene touch to the park's ambiance.

It's worth noting that the park lacks fencing or gates around the playground area, which may be a concern for families with young children prone to wandering. Additionally, the merry-go-round's weight can be a challenge for one person to spin for an extended period.

While I haven't visited on hot, sunny days, the available shade should provide some respite from the sun. Overall, Moccasin Slough Park seems to be a quiet and well-maintained playground, despite the absence of permanent restroom facilities. It's a pleasant spot for family outings, offering a variety of activities to keep children entertained.

This is the perfect local park for those who are just getting into fitness, older adults, or those who just want a little serenity in their daily routine. I love that the trail is pavement since concrete destroys shins and wrecks havoc on our bodies. You should know that you will be circling the trail multiple times in order to get your miles in. I believe it is suppose to be .5 mile for one lap but that’s not what my iWatch registered after the first lap. However, the trail has lots of shade for those hot days so that’s a plus. The only thing I wish the County would’ve done at this park is extend a portion of the trail for those of us who like to run at least 3 miles. Taking the trail towards the water with an overlook spot would have made this park the best option for fitness outings in Fleming Island.

This park is listed as having a trail and it does not. I googled “trails near me” this park came up, I packed my backpack and brought water and was excited to go for a hike. Only to get there and see the “trail” is actually just a sidewalk that goes in a circle. Pretty park, but, def no trail.

We always end up seeing a little wildlife while we are here. There is a paved path to ride bikes or walk which is great because sometimes the attention stands are not long enough for JUST the playground. The playground is pretty cool too. Just beware, there is not bathroom.

Great place to get in some moderate exercise. Great for seniors. They have exercise stations throughout the walking loop for old folks to stretch and moderate strength training.

I’m not sure why but my dog does not want to stay in this park. He doesn’t even want to walk around the circle. I brought him there 2x and he didn’t want to stay. So this park is not for us. But there is a good playground there for kids.
