Been dying for a nice cup of coffee, so when I found myself in Kansas City Missouri I thought I’d try a coffee shop in the area I was in. I got a normal cappuccino, it was okay but I wouldn’t necessarily run back. Struggling to find decent coffee in the states. Besides the taste, it could have been hotter too. The search continues.

I’ve visited Messenger Coffee Co. In KC twice this week while in the area for work, and unfortunately, both experiences were disappointing.

On one visit, I ordered a chai latte, and on the other, a cappuccino and an almond croissant. The drinks were okay, nothing special. But the croissant was stale and very hard. What stood out the most, though, was the poor customer service. The staff was rude and unwelcoming, which is not what you expect from a coffee shop.

A coffee shop should provide a warm, friendly experience that makes you want to come back, but this was the opposite. Sadly, this place felt like just another average spot. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Great coffee shop on the Plaza. The breakfast sandwich was delicious and the seasonal coffee was so good! Not a lot of places to sit inside, there’s a few tables and chairs outside, so if it’s cold bring a jacket.

I love visiting local coffee shops. Even though Messenger has more than one location, it has a very local feel to it. This location is awesome. It’s an easy walk from the Hampton Inn or the Hilton. I ordered a hot 12oz white chocolate mocha. The baristas were very nice and friendly. The one making my coffee was attentive to the process and seemed genuinely interested in making the best coffee they could for me. Sounds silly, but it’s true. The inside was very clean and tidy. The space is small but there’s a counter height bar to sit at and there is a nice outdoor courtyard that was full. Great coffee and service!

If you prefer less sugar, this is your place. I love the fact I can get a good coffee and don't have a sugar rush after.

I am traveling and stopped in to try their hot Chai as I've tried a lot of different Chai Lattes. I ordered a Dirty Chai with only 1 shot of espresso. It was the perfect blend of Spice for me as I like mine in the spicier. I went in a second time and had very fast and friendly Service both times. The vibe was relaxing you could sit inside or outside to study or work. I would return.

The baristas here are the nicest people on the planet. No matter who is working, everyone is so friendly. Coffee is always made well and the breakfast sandwiches are crazy good!

I recently tried a matcha and a coffee at this place, and both were pretty disappointing. The matcha was watered down and barely tasted like anything. The coffee was the same and not flavorful at all.
