This place was buzzing at 11:30am yesterday morning. We popped in after a hike up the road and their was a line out the door. The staff was working incredibly hard to keep the line moving, and the food runners were definitely put miles on their soles! We had a group of six, so we got our food to go and we ate outside. The food took about twenty minutes but the beverages only took 5-7 minutes. It was lovely, but busy but this is what you get when its peak leaf peeping time in the quiet corner of CT - a bustling cafe. The bathroom was clean, when I and my toddler used it around noon. Will definitely be back!

Stopped by for coffee, scone and cake. The coffee was very good (super hot coffee) the scone and cake were a bit dry (probably from sitting out all day but it wasn’t bad). Service was very nice.

Atmosphere: tables and floors were just dirty. Dirt and trash on the floor. It just wasn’t cleaned after people left. Maybe because it was towards the end of the day but still it was fairly dirty

I am so sorry to the owners for what I’m about to write but this is an honest review. The cafe is absolutely adorable, the drip coffee was pretty good, the employees are extremely friendly and welcoming even on a busy Sunday with a line out the door. The food, however (again I’m so sorry), was the worst food I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Not a single person in my party finished our food because of how bad it was and it wasn’t cheap. The burger either had extreme freezer burn or it was a microwaved patty. I would say, if you go, try the coffee and a pastry(although I’ve read mixed reviews below about those as well). I would encourage the owners to take the fall harvest salad off the menu. I am not generally a picky eater and I always joked I’ve never tasted a vegetable I didn’t like but I’ll admit, this was the first. The flavors do not pair well together.

I understand every restaurant experience varies, but I feel obligated to leave a review about this cafe's hamburgers specifically. I ordered a burger that took over one hour to arrive, and when it did, it was a barely microwaved patty with varying colors of brown (freezer burn maybe?). I'm not exaggerating when I say it was inedible. I took a few bites and left the rest.

The coffee was good, the atmosphere was fun because of the Gilmore Girls connection, but I strongly discourage anyone from ordering a hamburger here.

To the owners: you're doing a disservice to the patrons coming in expecting good or even average lunch meals. Please take the hamburger off your menu. I can't imagine ever being okay with that kind of product leaving my kitchen.
