I like the fact it's not a kill shelter and hope they don't turn it into one. However when I've been there I would say the reason for needing more funding is due to the people running it miss managing the amount of staff. There are way to many people not doing anything and on the clock at the same time. Don't kill the animals just manage the staff better and quit hanging out together as buddies, it is a job after all.

The ladies here were super nice & let us use their yard briefly, because my dog is a diva. (He absolutely refuses to do his business on a leash because he’s spoiled with a fenced 1/4 acre.)

I was starting to worry about how long he’d held out after hiking all day, but nervous to let him run free on our trip because he doesn’t know the area. The staff here didn’t even hesitate to help me out & my little guy was a much happier hiking buddy.

Great experience adopting two dogs that were brought into Colorado after being rescued from starvation in New Mexico. They do great work. ❤❤

I'd give zero stars if I could. Unless you're tight knit with the manager here, she will do you dirty. Feom lying about fees to unjust judgment for people and their animals. UNLESS she likes you, she will screw you over. It's unfortunate when people are in the animal field and aren't compassionate about them .

I applied to adopt a dog and quickly found out that several people had applied to adopt the dog but they won't even review them until they get more! It seems so cruel to make all of us fall in love and keep the dog extra time from their forever family when well qualified people already want to adopt.

Drove to Leadville from Eagle, but it was worth it!!! Amazing staff. They stayed late so my wife & I could pick up our adopted fur babies.

Called to see if I could get a little help with my dog - can’t afford to get him to the vet - they told me to go to Denver - Like I have money to do that if I can’t afford a vet bill Then they said THERE IS NO HELP HERE! Extremely rude, unprofessional and completely unempathetic.
