Awesome little swimming spot with a beach. The water is clean, there is little vegetation under water. Me and my boyfriend drive 35+ mins to come here every week of summer so far. We found it by chance one day last month, and it's become one of our spots.

Nice place, beach was clean and I like that there is a fence keeping my son in the beach area. Bathrooms and a changing area were available and we seen outdoor showers as we were leaving. Had to pay $20 because I'm not a resident, which I thought was a little high, but we had a great time anyways.

Quite, fun, and clean lake. Plenty of parking. Beach is a little rocky sometimes but otherwise it's a fun getaway.

Lovely lake, very peaceful for paddleboarding and swimming. Unfortunately, they don't offer day passes anymore despite their website indicating such. So I drove 30 min then showed up and couldn't park at the parking lot, only season passes for 80$ (non-residents) available. If you're kayaking, you can park in the public boat lunch and paddle to the lake however.

We expected it to be very crowded on the beach for 4th of July but it wasn't so full that we couldn't stay and enjoy ourselves. I like that it's closed after sunset and that there are life guards, changing area and bathrooms. I think we'll get a season pass even though we aren't residents. They have a military/veteran discount with I.D. which is nice too.

Good place to spend the day with a little lake and beach. Make sure to get there early in the day because it gets crowded quickly and is pretty small. Overall it's a great place for families with little kids to meet and there is a lifeguard on duty.

Lake Quonnipaug in Guilford is a great little lake that offers swimming at a town beach and features a small area for launching boats.
It's used almost exclusively by fisherman. And since there's a speed limit on the lake, I'm not sure that water skiing is allowed.
The Choate School in Wallingford (President Kennedy, Ivanka Trump, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Douglas, Glenn Close, & Paul Giamatti are all alumni), keep their rowing sculls here and practice competition rowing here as well.
It's also a delightful ride on a motorcycle, or sports car to get here from anywhere.

Nice area to swim but can get very crowded during peak season due to it being a small beach. It's also a nice lake to kayak and canoe
