Great trails at Knob Noster State Park. There's like 8 trails, most under 2 miles. Very clean. The bathrooms are clean, portable potty like. Plenty of parking. We hiked the Hawk Nest Trail. ( follow main road , turn left to Buteo Lake -across from campground). The trail was nice. Mix of flat ground and hills ( pay attention to rocks and roots)

We had a quick one night stay in the campground. One of the best campground we stayed in our cross country trip. Beautiful, level concrete pads with fantastic fire pits on the concrete pad. I'd say very RV and pet friendly. Water is still off for the season and the shower house was locked up but it looked very nice from the outside. The price was great for what you get.

Lovely campground. Clean, recently updated. Eight full hookups sites, many with water and electric and a more "rustic" back area with level gravel sites with electric. Hiking trails, small lake with kayak rentals, host was super friendly. Close to town but still nice and quiet. Former military will appreciate the daily 730am reveille and 2100 taps from the nearby AFB 😉
Would absolutely stay again.

It is such an awesome park! Lots of playground areas, a campground/RV area, a beautiful lake to fish or paddle on and gorgeous picnic area plus walking trails. Nicely taken care of bathrooms with Rangers available.

I drove out to knob noster State Park, to be able to hike the possum trail that they have there. It's a little over 5. Mi takes about 2 hours and some change to complete it. During my hike. I did see quite a few deer out there, even a couple snails.

This was a dog friendly Park. As long as your dogs were on leashes, they do offer mountain biking trails but due to the wet conditions it was closed to mountain bikers today.

The trail did offer a few shortcuts that would shorten the trail by quite a bit of a mount if you just wanted to get out and stretch your legs up.

Once I was able to get further into the trail I did notice there was some glass that had been broken. Looked like It had been there a while but just be careful with your fur babies. If you're taking them out there maybe get them some protective for their pads. I did pick up what I could of it.

This was about an hour drive from the Kansas City, Kansas side. It's well worth it just to be able to get out and experience some nature.

I would definitely hike this trail again.

There were some campsites that were offered as well. Unfortunately, I don't have much information on those, but it was an extremely quiet Park. There were no fireworks allowed signs, so if you decide to drive out there, it is very peaceful.

My four-legged sidekick and I went to Knob Noster State Park on November 11th, 2024, to spend one night tent camping at the campgrounds and take in as many miles of trails as we could. Combining the 2 partial days, we easily completed the North Loop, Discovery, Buteo, Hawks Nest, Clearfork Woodland, Clearfork, and part of the Opposum Hollow trails. The conditions were wonderful, and I saw very few hikers... maybe 4. Many leaves on the trails, hiding rocks and roots. The campground was well kept. The reservation process was easy with a phone call (number posted) to a friendly assistant. Funny thing, at 7:30 in the morning we could hear reveille playing from the Force Base. Not too load, and we were already up.
