I have been here a few times. Food is okay. Like almost every Chinese restaurant don’t expect any smiles or friendliness from the staff. The servers refill drinks and take empty plates. There are no extra napkins at the table. You have to ask the server for more. They save a lot of money and trees by doing this. Every time I have been here I have to ask for refills of my drink. Only once have drinks been on the table before I got back from getting my first plate. The servers drop off the check then you have to go to front to pay the manager. They try to get you to pay cash by charging a fee. Tonight I was dining alone my dinner was $15.49 on the check I had. Most of the time I pay without the check because I don’t want to wait for the server to drop it off so I can then wait in line to pay. An idea I would like to suggest is having the server take the payment. Then he told me $16.49 total and it was $1 extra for using a card. Every time I pay that extra fee it rubs me the wrong way. I don’t want to be penalized and I don’t want to have to bring cash to avoid it. This place is not great so I don’t plan coming back.

My favorite place to eat in Kirksville.
They have a stir fry bar in addition to the buffet. They have several choices for dessert including soft-serve ice cream.

TLDR: It is what you expect. Just OK. Plenty of vegetables. I've never done the hibachi here, but I've heard people mention they like it.

MENU: Typical Americanized Chinese stuff, mixed with a few American junk-food items. The dessert section is the same factory-made pastries and canned fruits they serve in these places everywhere. Overall, the selection is not extensive, but what they have is decent, for what it is, especially at the price point.

FOOD QUALITY: They make food fresh, and don't cook too much at once and then leave it sitting for a long time. Most of the items are factory made (like the potstickers and the fried nuggets that go in the various dishes), but the vegetables are fresh.

MENU FAVORITES: If it's important to you to have vegetables with your meal, you'll find more here than you might expect. The menu might change from time to time, but the last time I went they had stir-fried green beans, which I thought were the highlight of the meal. Plenty of broccoli, cabbage, carrots, bell peppers, and other veggies mixed in various dishes that you can single out if you want to.

MENU FAILS: My problem with these buffets is that the general public has access to the food, and there's always some knuckleheads doing the things knuckleheads do, like using the spoon from the sweet and sour chicken in the fried rice, getting syrup all over the place; or dropping the tongs at the dessert bar directly on top of the pastries, ruining three or four of them in the process. It's like they resent that other people exist in the world at all, so they go out of their way to be ratchet.

FRONT OF HOUSE SERVICE: Friendly staff. As attentive as they can be under the circumstances.

KITCHEN SERVICE: They're doing the best they can with what they have.

COMPETITION: If you value quantity over quality, come here. If you value quality over quantity, take a short drive to Great Wall and order off the menu instead.

ATMOSPHERE: Dark and dingy. Seems like the place was built in the 80s and hasn't been updated since.

If you like Chinese food, this buffet is one of the best in north Missouri. It is moderately priced, the wait staff does an amazing job even if you go in with 20 people.
I recommend going in on a Friday or Saturday night, their seafood buffet is great.
We go at least once a month.

Went on 2-8-25 in the evening, not horrifically busy but steady several servers for the amount of tables, was seated given our water went to the buffet picked what food looked on and ate waited for fresh general tso chicken it looked pretty old never got any tso's waitress walked by our table at least 6x with a empty cup on the edge of the table never took old buffet plates not a refill 1. We have been to this place throughout the years seems to keep going downhill this last one takes the cake, maybe new management purchased the last yr or so? Unsure but it's evident something has happend hope it gets better
