Hot bread is definitely the greatest thing since sliced bread. The ube hot bread was truly divine (we got all our flavors with cream cheese as well). The guava and blueberry are also very good as well. Don't worry about buying a bag they got you. I'll definitely be back every time I'm in Molokai!

Nice local restaurant whose menu and atmosphere reminded me of the places I grew up going to on Guam. I had the kimchi fried rice for breakfast, and my partner had the fried egg sandwich. Also purchased taro donuts to go. Everything was delicious. They were short staffed that particular morning, so service was slow. But perhaps just a classic observation of island time, cause truly, what reason is there to rush? Cool that you just seat yourself at your preferred seat, and they'll get to you when it's your turn. Otherwise, you can just order from the bakery up front for pastries and take out orders. We didn't make it back for the hot bread in the evening, but trust that the hype is real.

The hot bread at night is pretty bomb. I got four loaves of the strawberry with cream-cheese inside and it was great. Everyone I gave it to on Oahu the next day were stoked to get it, and it still tasted great. I can't wait to go back to Molokai one day and stay overnight.

Love their breads, sweet breads and pastries. Totally recommend. At night, after 7:30pm, go to the back alleyway on the right of the bakery and walk until you see light. Order a hot bread with cream cheese and strawberry or guava. It is so good!

Kanemitsu is popular for their fresh warm bread (served with your selection of cream cheese or jam at night after 7:30pm). You can also stop by during the day for food and pastries. It’s popular with both visitors and locals, so it might take a few minutes to get service. Everything moves at Molokai pace here, and Kanemitsu is no exception. They have good breakfast options, and I loved their taro donuts. If you’re coming during daytime hours, It’s best to visit in the morning, as many of the fresh baked pastries sell out by late afternoon.

After going two nights in a row for their nightly hot bread in the back alley, we tried their breakfast on Monday morning. Delicious! What a gem. We enjoyed the corned beef hash , taro pancakes and all the perfectly cooked eggs, sausages, bacon, and rice. We bought 3 pastries to go and wow, they were perfect. Thank you!

And you will never regret getting hot bread with cream cheese and mango or cream cheese and ube. One of my top 5 food experiences of my life for sure.

It's a decent breakfast joint and is also a local favorite. We were pretty much regulars there for the entire month we lived. Taro pancakes are an absolute hit. Best time to go for the popular hot bread is 7 pm, when it is served fresh out of the oven. It was huge and enough for two people. One thing which disappointed me is the they were using readymade jams and not fresh which I was expecting. The best combo is cream cheese, cinnamon and butter.
