Very easy hiking terrain! We only made it to the 2 mi marker with all the kids but this is a 9 Mile around trail. From what we experienced it was very easy. Not a whole lot to see being that it's in a thick bush. But it was very beautiful.

I recommend the high bluff coastal trail located in Tate’s Hell state park. It offers stunning scenery with beautiful views of the surrounding nature. The trail is well-maintained and suitable for all fitness levels. Enjoy your walk!

We hiked the East side trail. Not the easiest trail to follow. Map not totally accurate. Most of trail is soft sand with some hard sand/surface and pine needles. Parts of trail was through the thicket and some on the Forest Service Roads. Didn’t see any wildlife but just some bear skat. Some areas had water but there was a wood plank to cross. Interesting and different vegetation to see since we aren’t from the state.

Started at the west trailhead and made my way to the eastern trailhead (counter clockwise along the loop) but ended up taking a cut through before getting to the eastern trailhead about a mile after the power-lines . Beginning of this trail was the most interesting as you climb and descend along the sandhill ridges. The few wet areas had wooden planks to cross but the trail was overall dry. The loop back (northern portion) was a poorly maintained forest road without much to see and high grasses, I’d walk back along the trail versus doing the loop if I return. Encountered no ticks in late October.

Trail had a few nice views and you can see some wildlife... HOWEVER, there are no signs whatsoever on the trail, and markers are far and few between, there are tons of unmarked trails and roads all over the place... Very Easy to get lost.

Walked about a mile in to the bridge over the small river and picnic bench. Easy sandy trail. Looked for and found the plant I was looking for- yeah! Met a couple from Tennessee on my way out. Otherwise I had the trail to myself. No bear sitings.
