This was hands down the best kids birthday party we’ve ever done for my kids! I was nervous at first going in with a group of rowdy 9 year old boys, but the instructor Bill was excellent. He was firm but not overbearing, enforced safety as well as instructed and guided the kids on their stance and technique. By the end, every kid had managed to hit the target and they had an absolute blast. We will be back for sure!

Crazy fun experience !! A big group of us had 2 targets combined for 90 min, and it was well worth it. The large selection of canned beers at the bar only a few feet away combined with team based competitions and the thrill of throwing an axe + seeing it hit and sink into the wood was very satisfying!

I absolutely can not say enough great things about this place and the staff. We had an AMAZING time. All of the instructors were so helpful and patient and honestly felt like they were part of our group! I can not wait to go back! Tons of great drinks (lots of local stuff too) and plenty of room for large groups. Thank you guys for everything!

I want to put this review into two parts as I think that's probably the fairest way to go about it. As far as the experience itself I would say it was excellent. I had never been axe-throwing before and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Bill was very patient and took the time to even do one-on-one with one of the member of our party that was having a difficult time. Isaac (I believe it was Isaac who is also in the one picture) was also very helpful, friendly, and patient with us. Fortunately, I reserved our time for around 3:30 pm on Saturday so we were the only ones there.

It was on Saturday October 14th and also my Birthday so the experience again was a lot of fun and my brother and I, under the the direction of Bill, started to pick things up quickly and it became both competitive and enjoyable.

The only reason I would not give Hatchet Hangout 5 stars is one regarding my booking. I will explain...

I ended up booking for 6 members of my party to throw. When I arrived it became clear that only 3 were going to throw. I asked Drew, the manager, about this and he assured me that they could work out the pricing later as I'd overpaid by double (booking for 6 and only 3 of us threw).

All and all the Birthday package along with shirts and a hat I purchased came out to around $300. Not cheap. Drew had left the premises before I had finished my hour.

After we completed our booking at around 4:30pm I asked the staff about this same issue as I had paid for 6 and only 3 of us actually participated. The staff informed me that they couldn't do anything and I would have to call back and speak with Drew.

When I got back into Boston, where I live, I called and spoke with Drew on the next Monday which was the 16th I believe. Even though he met me and was friendly at the time, it took him a while to admit he remembered me which was unusual since I was the only one there.

He said he would have to check with Bill and Isaac (sorry if I got the name wrong there), and he would get back with me. He said that I would be refunded around $60 for the difference which was helpful as I again paid over $300 if you count the birthday package, shirt, and hat that I'd also purchased.

I have heard nothing back, there is no refund, and it's almost 3 weeks later so that's definitely left me with some disappointment. Based upon this, I would say the initial experience was great but my overall satisfaction as a paying customer is not completely satisfactory.

We came her for my besties bachelorette party and had a blast! Instructor was super attentive and helpful and the bride hit a bullseye! Definitely recommend coming here.

I took my daughter here today and we had a blast. You have a certified instructor that teaches you how to throw the ax and stays close by to help and give you games to play. We got a 2 hour slot and played the whole time. The 2 hour slot was the perfect duration. Are arms were tired after 2 hours. I highly recommend checking out Hatch Hangout.
