Outstanding combination of flavors. From the cheddar chive biscuits to the strawberry cheesecake French toast. Everything was so well put together. Biscuit with fried green tomato, bacon and collard greens. The grits were amazing. All around great food and service.

It really pains me to write such a poor review for a place in Rome, because the town, overall, was absolutely adorable. I just can't justify paying over $50 for the caliber food here. Firstly, I ate at one restaurant in three small GA towns in 24 hrs to get the full experience- one in Adairsville, one in Acworth, and then this one in Rome. I paid $10 less at both the other restaurants and ended up giving one 4 stars and one 5. That's how lackluster this experience was, for comparison.

The girl at the bar was sweet enough but I noticed every bartender in the three towns I visited were super standoffish (sat at the bar since it was just me each time). Not sure if they all just lack social skills or because I was from out of town and intimidated them. In any event, the conversation here was definitely lacking.

I got the lobster tacos, a vinho verdé, and a piece of the chocolate cake. The tacos came out on a rustic looking slab of wood and were just dripping everywhere. It was an unbelievable mess and all over the bar. The poor bartender apologized but it wasn't her fault. Management needs to figure out a new way of plating that doesn't soil the patrons.

The guacamole was certainly homemade, but that's only obvious because it was completely flavorless. Premade would've at least been slightly seasoned with salt or lime or anything that resembled a flavor palette, but it was just simple avocados mashed up. Even the chips it was served with on the side were bland.

The tacos, although dripping with sauce, were also blasé. Not even sure what was in the sauce but it definitely wasn't seasoning of any sort. The sauce was watery like it didn't have any creamy base.

The cake came out and it was this huge slab- basically a quarter of a cake....from Walmart. It legitimately looked and tasted like it was a bakery-made bday cake from wally world (not even Publix quality) that had sat in a fridge a couple days and was just chucked on a plate without being brought to room temp.

The buttercream was stiff as a board and the cake was dense, dry, and inedible. I tried to scarf down a few bites, but it was horrendous. For $10, I would've been ecstatic with a piece half as big, provided it was palatable. Most expensive paper weight ever. Went promptly in the trash.

The only part of the meal that was worthwhile was the wine.

Gotta say, I really wish I'd taken the girls' advice at the coffee shop and gone to get kosher food. There's probably a reason they had nearly 5 star ratings. Can't say I'd suggest this place to anyone passing through.

This place is great. I needed a place to eat, relax, and with great customer service. This place checks the boxes and then some! The food was awesome, the drinks were great, and everyone was amazing. I'll be coming back for sure. You made this doc's hectic week all better just by coming here and relaxing.

What an amazing place! I will
Start with dessert, the Key lime pie was the best I have every had! The whip topping was so yummy!!!!! Everything we had was top notch. Our waiter was amazing, sorry I forgot his name. He had a unique name, hope that helps. I cannot say enough great things. The inside was cool. The band had started next door and the music just added to the experience.

My family really enjoys this place. They don't have a large menu, but what they do have is good. I have had the meatloaf, smothered chicken, and the burger and you can't go wrong with any of those. The service is always good, and they offer a little seating outside by the street. The parking can be a little difficult because there is a lot of shopping and other restaurants on the road. The restaurant does have a door in the back if you find yourself parking behind it.

update from my daughter's Grace's earlier review

UPDATE on Harvest Moon: After speaking with the individuals who responded to my previous post, I am even more infuriated.
They have admitted to the fact they knew my venue did not provide ovens or warmers. They have also admitted they do possess the necessary equipment, but typically only use them at their own venues, as insurance and whatnot would need to be acquired to take it to my venue. Something I would have happily made sure was in place so that we had the equipment they knew they needed and didn’t have access to through my venue.
I was also told that it was hard to say “no” to a customer, so even though my selected menu was not ideal, they accepted it anyways. Something I find hilarious because they told me NO to fried green tomatoes because they needed an oven for those - something we’ve clearly established they knew they didn’t have. If my other food needed these things, I would have happily heard “no” and selected other items or a different caterer.
They also said that they are surprised that such a small order was taking to be executed “on a Sunday”, such a busy day elsewhere for them. My wedding was on a Saturday. So apparently we can’t even keep what day my wedding was straight? ?
They don’t seem to possess the capability of keeping information straight. And I only wish I had temped the food on my wedding day, as I don’t believe it was held to the standards required to serve food.
They have reimbursed the cost of potatoes, the only mistake they are willing to admit to.
I am incredibly frustrated and upset after speaking with Harvest Moon Cafe. They asked to consider them for other events in the future as the easiest way to compensate an issue like this is to come to a deal on a different event. Aka - take money off a different event, but not give me money back on this one that you screwed up.
If this order really affected their bottom line that bad, maybe they shouldn’t have agreed to it. As they clearly knew they couldn’t execute it.

From me:
As a customer I’m paying you to make recommendations on what works when you are traveling to a venue. I’m also trusting your staff to communicate to me what equipment you actually have to carry food with and keep it warm. Apparently all you do is wrap it up in aluminum pans and foil and put it in your van. The food was cooked, traveled 45 minutes and then served an hour and half later.

I’m trusting your staff to communicate if something else is needed to keep food warm at the venue we are using. Which you did not. And suggest ways to make that happen or suggest other caterers.

Do not complain later when you receive a complaint and state that this was a really small catering job and you are surprised your staff agreed do it. Really? How unprofessional can you be? Any catering job should be welcomed!
