As a student, I have come to Fatty's many times for food and fun. The atmosphere is lively and great, but not too overwhelming. The staff is always friendly and considerate, I have never had any problems with them!! The bathrooms are clean and well-maintained, I only wish they had more stalls. The food is the best part! Fresh, yummy, and arrives relatively fast considering how crowded the place can be. I recommend getting the garlic beer nuggets, they are to die for. I've taken my friends, family, grandparents, and little siblings here. Depending on the time of day, it can be a great environment for any age group. Although I recommend taking younger and older members earlier in the day. I also love the local music from the NIU Jazz band and the trivia nights as well. There's always something fun to do or see! My only bad review is that it is a little hard to get around in a wheelchair. There are steps and tight corners, as well as tall tables. So, it is harder to find a place to sit than in other restaurants. Besides that, this place is delicious, has a fun environment, and I definitely recommend you come here!!!

A pub/tavern/sports bar atmosphere for sure, with excellent food. Lots of sports on monitors and sports memorabilia on walls. A lot of people had recommended the fried potato salad, so I tried it and now I highly recommend it too. Prices are very reasonable, and staff friendly and able to give good guidance on menu item. We have only lived in the area for a few months and hands down best place we visited.

When we got here, they just told us to take any table! After we sat down, our waitress Theresa came within 5 mins, didn’t expect that, thought it would take much longer before anyone would noticed us! We ordered a few things and the wait for the food was extremely long, due to game day at NIU! We had BBQ slider, Huskie Burger and the Kettle chips! The bbq pork slider was just ok, it needed some sauce on the pork! The Huskie burger was huge and juicy! But the best was the Kettle chips with jalapeño ketchup for the dip! The jalapeño ketchup was not spicy at all, it had a sweet and tangy taste! We also had the chips and salsa!

The food is ok. We had a variety of foods. The tenderloin was dry. The potato salad was good. The burgers need seasoning. The steak was overcooked. We had to ask for refills. The person bussing tables started clearing everything as we were getting up from the table making it a challenge to get our carry out boxes and put our coats on. The music was very loud making it a challenge to talk to people.

We ate at the bar since we needed to go quick. Beer selection was good. Bartenders were great. Food prep time was poor. Overall food was good. The Cajun fried potato salad is worth a second visit just by itself
