Been here 3 times so far! This is definitely my new favorite brunch place! Was here for the 2nd time last Wed 6/12! My server, Miss Tristan, did a great job serving me quickly and efficiently! That time, I ordered the Maximo Skillet (because I LOVE chorizo), along with the Salmon Platter (with a whole wheat bagel and cream cheese), and a side of their awesome corned beef and a side of bacon! Everything was DELICIOUS ... which is why I returned for a 3rd time (last Saturday 6/15)! That time, I had Sandra as my server! She was GREAT --unlike the other times I dined here, she also gave me the Specials Menu, which has a ton of great menu items I didn't know existed! For example, the Pork Chop & Eggs Special, which I ordered (it came with 2 side choices, so I had Cheese Grits and fruit)! I also ordered the Salmon Platter and sides of their AWESOME corned beef and a side of bacon! Everything again, was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!! Sandra was very quick, efficient, pleasant, professional, very knowledgeable and the most experienced server I've ever had here! The place is nice, roomy/airy, and clean! I will definitely be back!//Just dined here for the first time (Friday, 5-3-2024)! (A friend of mine who's the most popular server at nearby Italian steakhouse, Lago, referred me to Eggshells, and told me to check out their corned beef!) His recommendation was spot-on! I had a great meal at Eggshells! Their menu's so big and full of great selections, I couldn't make up my mind, so I ordered the Irish Skillet (which of course had corned beef as its main ingredient) plus the Smoked Salmon Platter (note: this item doesn't come with a bagel, so I ordered an Everything Bagel too)!Everything tasted fresh and DELICIOUS! Plus, my server, Kaitilin, did a fantastic job with her fast, friendly and efficient service!

Local Place for the locals. Great diner food for any appetite. But, the best part is the bakery - fresh made every day and sold out by noon. The service is great and kindly. Come enjoy a tasty treat in Lake Zurich...because the locals all know where the best place for breakfast is in the neighborhood.

No one greeted us when we entered but we were told ‘sit anywhere’. We had a hard time choosing a table not because it was busy but because we couldn’t find a clean one. Only 3 tables were occupied yet most of the others were not cleaned and nor was the floor. We ended up sitting in the back which was cleaner but had to contend with the music overhead and the noise from the tv the owner was watching. We like to patronize Eggshells because it’s a local small businesss. But next time we might opt for a chain that is friendlier and cleaner.

This is one of the places that makes you happy when you’re there. The staff is some of the best around. The hostess was pleasant and honest about the abundance of bees on the patio and happily sat us inside. Our server was very sweet and attentive.

This was one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever eaten out. My scrambled eggs were fresh and fluffy. You don’t get that everywhere. Handoff the bone was thick and tender. The hash browns were thoroughly cooked with just the right amount of crunch. The pancakes were not at all doughy but light and fluffy.

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here and will return because I’m told they have amazing donuts.

I'll first start by saying I never had anything against this place, but seeing that management did not call me back. And justify what happened to my meal? I will have to write a review now, And call the health department, i had received pancakes with strawberries and raspberries, as I was looking at the pancakes, I noticed that there was something green, and sure enough it was a green warm. That was coming across my pancakes . I took photos of it and I am holding it on the side for evidence, all I will say if they would have just called me back, I would have not have written this review. Sad to say the place other than that was always good. But we will have to see what the health department says when I call them. Just double check your food when you get it!!!

We always have a tasty breakfast at Egg Shells! They make fresh bagels and donut holes onsite!

Sadly, the service and food quality have gone downhill. Just as many have commented, the servers are unfriendly and inattentive. The lady with the large, dark square frames talked incessantly to the other server who was trying to wait on the tables. No one checked on the tables for refills, etc.
They ran out of children's menus and made no effort to help with the orders-- my child's order ended up being $20 because when we ordered French toast and bacon, they charged it based on the regular menu and decided to charge a child the large-sized beverage. The kids' food arrived first. (Then other tables were served.) My avocado toast didn't arrive until they were halfway through their meal (it was just toast!). The arugula was wilted and my fruit cup was old (see pic).
Also, none of their machines were working so we didn't order any specialty drinks.
