It's a great place to attend exercise and Tai Chi classes; and there's several activities throughout the week. The people there are nice and friendly. Also, the manager, Carolyn, is friendly and welcoming. It has been a wonderful experience for me.

I've met many new friends, learned new card games and line dancing, participated in Zumba and won many times at Bingo. I really enjoy the live country band on Fridays, the monthly birthday celebrations, the informative public service announcements and lunch is served Monday through Friday. Computers, movies, books, table tennis, pool tables, corn hole, and the Wii are also available. This is a clean a/c facility. Well managed by friendly staff. Transportation is available, arrangements are made by the community center staff.

The East Citrus Community Center is a well-equipped facility that caters to the entire community and encompasses the many varied interests of the local population. I happened to go there because they offer programs for seniors that my handicapped sister can participate in. What amazed me was the extraordinary array of activities and entertainments that are available for FREE and open to all ages.

County resident seniors can register and get a free hot lunch. As a veteran, I was pleased to see all the people who can stand get up and recite the pledge of allegiance followed by a moment of silence before the meals are served.

My sister loves to play cards and I am learning to play pool, thanks in large part to the other players giving me pointers. There is a large TV with dozens of videos, including several on how to play pool like a pro, that I am working my way through.

A wide variety of local clubs, such as wood cutters, bridge, mahjong, etc., just to name a few, meet here weekly. There is a craft room brimming with supplies for beading, sewing, ceramics, and so much more.

A special table is set up just for puzzles which are on display in various stages of completion. At the back is a computer room, with several computers and printers available.

For those of you who like video games, there is a large TV hooked up to a Wii station with a variety of games to play such as golf, tennis and bowling, which is an excellent option for people who want to be active while being seated. Dotted around the facility are a few pieces of exercise equipment for those who are more physically active.

Music and dance are a daily occurrence, with line dancing clubs meeting several times a week. Every Thursday is free bingo with prizes. Fridays are especially fun because the Country Sunshine band play a wide variety of music. I love dancing and they really get my feet tapping to the beat.

If you're a grandparent looking for someplace different to take the grandkids when they're visiting, (that won't beak the bank because it's free), then check this place out. There is a huge number of games to play and things you can to do together as a family.

The facility is clean, well managed, and available for rental. It includes a huge fully equipped kitchen and is handicap accessible with two wide ramps in the front and ample parking. The building sits a little back off the road and can easily be missed if you're heading West on 44.

In my opinion, the East Citrus Community Center stands as a model for what a community center should be - a place where everyone is welcome to pursue a wide variety of interests in a clean and safe environment. Well done Citrus County!

Best center for senters to enjoy social contact. Carolyn is great maintaining with great social with all that come thru the doors. About time the center is brought back to life. Cards. Pool woodcarvers cars of all kinds. Daily lunch. Came and reservations 830a to 4pm. Computers coming. Come and enjoy like i have. Xoxo
