At first I thought this was going to be a good place. But things took a bad turn quickly. My dad was there and is capable of making decisions. My sister who is POA was trying to block family from visiting. The administration went along with this for awhile, requesting a code to get in for a visit. But if anyone knows anything about the POA job, they don't have any until the person is unfit mentally or in a coma. Once we challenged them and told the nursing home we knew our rights they backed off saying it was for medical info. Which nobody has ever asked for! My dad had asked for the code several times and was denied. I'm guessing that my sister wants my dad to be alone most of the time As family coming to visit is a wonderful thing!! Shame on the administration for trying to block it and every time my dad was sent to the hospital or transferred they never notified me even though I'm on the list.

This was the most horrible experience ever. My loved one suffered at the Citadel and no one cared. I wouldn't leave a pet there let alone a family member.

My father was a resident there. He was treated very well even though he could be hard to deal with at times. He was well taken care of and the staff went to great lengths to make him feel at home. He recently passed away but went through hospice there. They were wonderful to him and my family. Very caring.

I've just spent a week at the bedside of a family member at the end of a fight with cancer who was lucky enough to come to this facility. Although I came from out of town after she had been at the facility for a month, the care and kindness she had been receiving here was obvious from the moment I arrived. The staff of Our Lady of Victory - nurses, techs, nurses aides, even the nutritionist - knew who she was, and knew her needs and preferences. Nothing was too small to be considered - she liked her room kept cool and her bed as high as possible so she wasn't being loomed over, so they did these things for her, even after she was no longer responsive.
As the end came, the staff was on hand for any concern I had. The Sisters came in to check on us and pray. The nurses and aides came regularly to check on her and on me, even bringing me a cart with coffee and snacks and extra blankets (for that cold room). I appreciate everyone who was with us this past week, and for all the kindness, warmth, and care.

I have never met a team of more dedicated employees! It does not matter what their job description is, they will help in any department. I have personally watched this team go through so much this past 2 years and they still smile and give it their all! Huge kudos to the amazing staff Citadel of Bourbonnais!

Many lost or stolen personal belongings! Care wad horrible. Constant incidents of unexplained injuries! My mother passed in Jan 2020 and she was there 18months constantly complained they r not taking care of me! Mobody gets in a hurry to call a doctor or answer a call lite! Medical errors 1 month after admission NO STARS Do not send your lioved one here
