I love this little library, there are so many things for the kids to do. My own kids have enjoyed getting henna tattoos, making origami paper crafts, the lego club and many other countless things. They send out a newsletter each month keeping everyone up to date on current happenings. If you have a question the staff are very knowledgeable and will go out of their way to help you. Very professional and clean library.

The Chillicothe library is an asset to the Illinois Valley Library system. Well stocked with a wide variety of media and staffed by knowledgeable, courteous people. The whole library system is available through online; phone or in-house request. There are always local or historical displays for educational viewing. Computers with internet access are in house for patrons to use. Several rooms, large or cosy are available for community use. The staff are always coming up with family activities, both inside and out season permitting. An upcoming event; Reading to PAWS for local children is a wonderful program. Free movies, game nights, crafts, outdoor concerts, etc are offered for adults, teens and children. The website lists a calender of scheduled events and phone numbers for additional information. A drive up window makes item pickup and drop off very convenient. And there is always a dog biscuit for the family pet at the window. My whole family has enjoyed the library for many years and hopefully many years to come.

The staff has always been very nice and so helpful. The library itself has such a great, safe, and fun atmosphere. It has so many groups and classes to offer as well. I would recommend this place to everyone.

The only thing I really hate is this libraries hours. They are not open long on weekends, which is when I have time to stop in. I realize many patrons are swimming& enjoying being outside, but some of have work on computers to do, research, need to keep children occupied, job searching... Please reconsider lengthening your hours. 🙏

The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Even if they don't have a book in stock, they are more than willing to find it elsewhere. My son and I love going in there.
