We attend our granddaughter's volleyball games there. The gym is large enough to have three games going at once; but it is tight. They provide a few rows of bleachers for the spectators. It is a very loud gymnasium with whistles blowing, cheering, and general crowd noise. If you wear hearing aides, leave them at home. They also have a concession stand available. Wheelchair accessible. Inadequate parking.

Today my son Jackson is back home from church camp after only 1 night. I am very disappointed in the director Laura B. that was running It. Jackson’s cabin was up a little early as kids do but stayed in their room. His counselor ,Jacob, didn’t tell them to be quiet or even minded them being up since he was up on his phone. But the director stood from the stairs and screamed at the boys to be quiet because they were waking the entire camp. Which wasn’t true because Jackson was told by multiple people upstairs that no one woke up until she screamed at them. Then because they got in trouble, all the boys turned on Jackson blamed & bullied him & singled him out when it wasn’t just Jackson, it was just his alarm. What she did was not acceptable nor appropriate. It could have been handled differently that didn’t result in my child feeling uncomfortable and bullied. She could have spoken with the counselor about the situation and then made a plan of action to make sure it didn’t happen again. I left my house at 8:30am after getting a call from Jackson crying to come get him. The director did not even attempt to contact me until two hours after the incident when I was already down the road from the camp! She tried to lie to me about the situation but I made it very clear that I knew what happened and her part in it. She explained that she had other things going on. I get it but a phone call takes 5 min. I don’t understand how any adult could be okay with making a child feel unwanted & unwelcome at CHURCH camp! I get the other kids because that’s just how some kids are but an adult? He had such high hopes for this week & it breaks my heart that he no longer has any interest in church or camp. And to make it even worse, the church camp has gone DOWNHILL! And I mean the church part! It was nothing like it was when I went years ago. Definitely wasn’t worth the 300$ his grandmother ,Mindy Hart, spent & now lost because the director clearly doesn’t know how to run a camp or even how to speak to children without being hateful. If she hadn’t screamed at them the way she did, it wouldn’t of released the things that transpired because of HER actions. As adults is our job to keep our emotions and feelings in check even when tired and she clearly couldn’t handle it. I am not sure what kind of church you all are running but I had no idea that a church would allow an adult director who is in change of multiple children treat them that way. My son felt like he couldn’t stay and that he was unsafe. It’s church camp! It shouldn’t be like that!
