We just finished two takeout orders of fish tacos from Bistro 44. In our opinion, they are the best in Tucson. We dine and order takeout from Bistro 44 often and the experience is almost always good. Tonight was different.
The tacos were still good, but they were garnished with inedible black avocados. (see below) When I spoke to the manager, Tracy, about them, she showed no interest in seeing what they served. To make amends, she offered to give us credit for another fish taco at some future time or a $10 gift certificate – for a $40 order. She offered no apology or expressions of remorse.
We like Bistro 44 but will order no more takeouts if this happens again.

I love this place! The Half Priced Burger Sunday’s keeps me coming back. It’s a mighty slab of beef beautifully cooked and presented. The restaurant is a pleasant environment, but we usually opt to eat in the lounge. The bar staff is great — Ryan (not sure if that’s his name) is not only attentive but also quite witty. Clientele is friendly; many seem to be regulars, probably from the Country Club. Definitely worth your Sunday lunch if you’ve never been here!

Oh, one last thing — if you go to the men’s room, be forewarned you may have some smiling woman named Wittenbraker hovering over the urinal watching you relieve yourself. What nerve!

Good service, good food! Definitely would come back. Ate Mediterranean Salad and my friend ate the hamburger, both tasty and delicious!

I thoroughly enjoyed myself at Bistro 44. Half off burger Sunday is a nice treat. The rest of the menu is definitely appealing to many tastes. The wait staff that I've had was always friendly and the service was always great.

I was really expecting the food to be of much better quality. I honestly feel what we ate could have easily been prepared at home. Prices charged are not worth the cost. Service was good. Not sure what the experiences is on a weekend but restaurant seems to cater largely to the senior retirement residence just a couple blocks over. Some of the menu possibly even created with this in mind. Not something I will return to but could be worth trying out once (as any place is, in my opinion).

Had a so called bowl of french onion soup. I couldn't even imagine what size a cup was. My bowl looked like a cup. It was very blan and a very thin layer of cheese. The bread they served was hard as a rock. If they just warmed it a bit would have been fine. This is the 2nd time I've been there. The first was for dinner. Not impressed at all!

Solid menu with a nice variety, but not overwhelming. Maybe because of that, the execution was top-notch! I had the hot ham and cheese, which sounds basic. However, it was excellent! Especially paired with a side salad. Our server Noah was great as well. ?

Food was soooo good! I ordered the "Spaghetti Incident" that had a Chardenlet butter sauce and included green beans, spinach, mushrooms, shrimp, etc. Sound odd? I'll order that dish again when I return. I was with a group of friends, and everyone seemed to enjoy their dinner. I tasted a scallop and it was prepared perfectly.
