BIG PAPAS CHOPHOUSE - Quincy, Florida

We've been planning to visit Big Papa's for our son's 21st birthday for 3 months or so and it was worth the short drive from Tallahassee. Big Papa's is a homey little place right on the square in downtown Quincy. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service is great. Staff is friendly and helpful. We all got steaks (and 1 pork chops that was very juicy and tender.) We'll definitely be back to sample other menu items. Our steaks were all cooked perfectly and the sides were delicious. Between all 5 of us, we had various sides of mashed potatoes, bacon-wrapped asparagus, mac & cheese, and a wedge salad. Then we had to get dessert to wrap up the birthday, of course! We had key lime pie, carrot cake, and red velvet cake (that had a thin perfect layer of cheesecake in the middle!) Everything was perfect!

What an absolute gem of a place! Quaint and classy all in one. We were greeted and seated right away. Fresh baked hot rolls with delicious butter. Wow... these melt in ur mouth. The rolls alone are enough to stop by.

Husband ordered 8oz sirloin. Sides were fries (Fresh Cut!! Amazing) and bacon wrapped grilled asparagus... smokey goodness. Everything perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The steak was worth every penny. (No A1 needed!).

My vegetarian self ordered the Strawberry Feta Salad with poppyseed dressing. So incredibly Fresh! I swear they picked those strawberries from out back before serving them. The portion of the salad was plenty to fill me up.

Our server, Keys, was absolutely great. Never needed to ask for refills ... they were quick to fill.

Wish we had room for dessert as it also looked amazing. We'll have to come back for that.

I do wish there were more vegetarian meal options available, but hey... it's a chophouse... i dont ever expect to find anything i can eat at these types of restaurants, so I was happy to have a few options.

Again... we were so impressed! And we will be back.

Approximately two months ago, me and several of my co-workers dined at this establishment on a Saturday evening. The online reservation process was quick and efficient, our server was outstanding (She recommended several dishes all of which were delicious), the beverages, appetizers, and entrees were amazing. I have a shellfish allergy, thus the cook came out and spoke to me (once again above and beyond the call of duty)! On top of that, we even got to meet the owners. They are such nice people! Trust and believe, you will not leave here hungry nor disappointed. Southern hospitality at its finest!

Quaint restaurant, not a great deal of seats, but very downtown vibe. Not terribly prompt service for drinks or food order for the few customers that were there when we arrived. Sweet tea was perfect and the butter that comes with the rolls sinful! We both had steak and it was prepared perfect and delicious! Green beans, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese flavorful and delish. Very good dinner!

Hubby and I are enjoying the grouper platter together—mine is grilled, and he went for the blackened option. Both are absolutely amazing! What makes this experience even better is the incredible service. The owner and servers are consistently attentive and make sure we have everything we need. The sweet tea is just perfect, too! Marilyn, Keys, Shaun, and Terry truly make an outstanding team, and their dedication to providing excellent service really enhances the dining experience. Highly recommend!

We did lunch at Big Papas today. It was the first time for me. I got the grouper basket and my wife got the pork chop special. Everything was very good. We had fun sampling each other's plates. Service was friendly and appropriately attentive. There was something slightly different about their Mac & cheese in a good way. I'm glad we tried it. They are located on the square in Downtown Quincy Florida. We will go there again when we get the chance!

The hostess asked if we had reservations when we entered, but we didn't because this was our first time here. We were told that it gets really busy at times, and it sometimes helps to make reservations. The wait wasn't long at all... the service was great. The food was really good. They have complimentary biscuits and cinnamon butter that was so delicious. They have inside and outside seating. Not a very large dining area so make those reservations lol!

My wife and I had dinner here. This is a really nice family owned and operated restaurant. The staff is friendly and efficient. I've eaten here a number of times and never had anything other than great food. On this occasion I had smoked brisket, it was excellent and a good portion. My wife had the small ribeye which was plenty for her and very good. The prices are reasonable. The place is small so plan accordingly. Overall, the food is a combination of southern home cooking and what you'd expect in a steak house. I recommend Big Papa's and will be back.
