We made an unexpected stop here on the way back to St. Joe.
I will start with the positives.

It was a cute little restaurant and clean.

We had the catfish nuggets with pepper jack cheese balls, tenderloin sandwiches with tater tots, onion rings, salad, and the jack burger with french fries. We also snagged a piece of strawberry rhubarb pie on the way out.

Tenderloin was huge, not too thin, and had flavor. The pepper jack cheese balls were spot on, a good amount of cheese with a kick. The burger was excellent, didn't need any condiments at all. The pie was a perfect combo of sweet and tart, and the crust was super flaky.

The negative, the name of the business, had changed but had not been updated on Google. That could have just been a delay in Google, but it was a little misleading. But the menu was the name of the old restaurant, and they either were out of items we wanted or were no longer carrying, it was unclear.

The catfish was really more of a filet than a nugget, and it still had the silver skin on it, which left it tasting fishy, and I personally can't do fishy smell or flavor when eating catfish.

The onion rings were really not bad, but a little on the greasy side. French fries were just standard crinkle cut fries, and the tater tots were more like tater breakfast rounds and really lacked flavor. The ice tea tasted like fountain tea, and we would have really liked fresh brewed coming from a little dinner.

Our waitress was super nice, but we were the only people in the restaurant, and she mixed up our drinks and food orders and never came back to see if we could use refills. We are not a needy crowd, but some refills would have been nice and paying more attention to what we ordered and who it belonged to.

We hunt in the area in November and are willing to come back and give it another try, because there were some positives for sure!

I stopped in off the interstate and was honestly blown away with the tenderloin. Crispy, huge, and juicy. Waitress did very good and definitely earned her tip from me👍 if I was closer would definitely tell my friends and family to go here!

Everything is always amazing! The food is always hot and served with a smile. Love that the daily specials are always something actually “special” that isn’t normally served on the menu, and is always homeade.
