I almost feel like I'm gonna make the locals a little mad for giving away this secret Gem of a restaurant, but as I do, I review... The Sportsman's Hut is located on hwy W about halfway between Bethany and Eagleville right off of Harrison county lake. I'm telling you folks, this place is beyond words! I had a ribeye steak, a salad, and a huge baked potato with HOMEADE potato skins for an appetizer, the steak was by far the best I have ever had and I consider myself to be a steak expert! My wife had the catfish and it doesn't get any better than that, they know catfish up there! My friends had each a mushroom and swiss burger that looked totally out of this world! Very laid back, very friendly and a very home style atmosphere!

We went there for my father's birthday and what a great experience. My dad and I were able to order and then go shop around. It's like a mens cracker barrel. The family ordered the tenderloin, cheeseburger, catfish basket, and steak meal. You can't beat homemade fries and a steak.

Stayed the night in cabin. Great place to stay. Also went to resteraunt had a great ribeye and wife had chicken breast. Could not ask for a better meal. Chris and Lori are fantastic people also. Watched the hummingbirds out our front door.

Tried inquire about condiments, and got slapped and informed that waitress only had two hands. Then when we finally got our meals the steaks were inedible. Finally was told to never come back. Terrible place, and rude people running the place. Told cashier that I wanted a receipt, so she pushed no receipt And said it would be on my bank statement. Upon reading the response to my review, I want to say I will never return to a place that lies about their conduct concerning customers. We only sampled a small portion of our steak and it was burnt up, the owner lady said "you're from out of town, that's how the locals around here eat it" and then complained and were told not to come back. We were trying to cooperate with a business that seemed to be looking for an excuse to throw someone out. The owner is a bald faced liar, about our conduct.

First visit this weekend. Saturday night = steak night. Delicious meal! Friendly service. Welcoming atmosphere. Wife and I loved it. We’ll definitely be back. Hope to rent a cabin and spend some time there.

Melt in your mouth ribeye steaks hanging over the side of your plate next to a mound.of fresh cut french fries not the frozen ones from a freezer bag. A choice of.vegetable or salad, and an endless glass of sweet tea. Top this all off with friendly caring people truely wondering if you are enjoying your experience. Then you can browse the store for a new gun or fishing gear, or a novelty for the cabin. A great place !

This is one of those hidden jewels that only the locals know about. It is attached to a store and has limited seating. The menu is not large but what is on it is côokes to perfection. The owners are friendly and went out of their way to make us welcome. The Sportman's Hut is well worth a visit.
