Great food! Great atmosphere! Great service! Will eat there next time we are in town! Had smashburgers and they stayed HOT the whole time we ate on them!

Arrived right at lunchtime (noon). We ordered Mozzarella Sticks, which are GIANT/Jumbo 4 pc. cheese sticks w/Marinara super delicious. The pub was about half packed. We then ordered the Tenderloin Horseshoe and the Turkey Pony. My husband ordered sweet tea, he got unsweetened no biggie. His horseshoe meal came out as a pony, which was how it was wrote on our check.

The restrooms have no handicap rails, so if you have a physical disability that you need a wheelchair, cane, walker, or crutches, it may be difficult to move around in.

Great seating areas in sections. Good service. Friendly customers. Delicious food. Definitely worth trying atleast once in your life. I am a sucker for pub/grill foods. Great job! 🙂

We were passing through Carthage on a road trip looking for some food. We stopped by The Wood Inn due to some recommendations. I didn't feel like a very family friendly space. My kids were a little uneasy about being there. Place was clean and the service was great. The food may have been good for the area due to the lack of options. It was not bad, but also was not memorable.

I went in for dinner with my family. The food was ok. Typical small midwestern town tavern food. What shocked me was the service and the waitress and what I’m assuming were the town locals. They were all extremely rude. My family and I are not from the area and thankful for it. It wasn’t the best atmosphere for my small children. It was early evening but already had a lot of loud drunks. All around I wouldn’t recommend if you have self respect and are not a local.

Cute bar, but the food here was TERRIBLE. It was taco Tuesday, and I had the shrimp tacos. Each taco had 3 breaded shrimp on it, and the flour taco shells were deep fried. The taco shells were so hard that they broke into a million pieces when I picked them up. This made eating them tough. My husband had beef tacos, and they were cold.

The Wood is a Carthage favorite but this new menu is awesome! The Whiskey Smash Burger was AMAZING (and the best kind of messy), the ravioli was a great starter, and I can't wait to try more the next time I go!
