My recent visit to Star Lanes Arena was, unfortunately, a far cry from the fun and organized experience I remember from years past. What was supposed to be a enjoyable evening of bowling and games turned into a frustrating ordeal that left me questioning whether I’d ever return.

We arrived at 4:30 PM to sign up for open bowling, which was scheduled to start at 5:00 PM. Despite holding the second spot in line, we waited over three hours and still hadn’t been called to bowl by 7:30 PM. The check-in process was disorganized and chaotic. Staff members called out numbers inconsistently, and we had to repeatedly check in, only to be told to wait longer. The lack of clear communication and inefficient management of the lanes made the experience incredibly frustrating.

The food and drinks were a mixed bag. The Pepsi and fries were decent—nothing extraordinary, but at least they were satisfying. The pizza, however, was a letdown. It was essentially a basic cheese pizza topped with haphazardly chopped tomatoes, which felt like an afterthought rather than a properly crafted menu item. For the prices charged, I expected better quality and more effort.

The arcade games, which could have been a saving grace, were mostly out of order or malfunctioning. It was disappointing to see so many machines either broken or in poor condition, especially since this is a key part of the entertainment experience. The overall atmosphere of the venue was stuffy and poorly ventilated, making it uncomfortable to spend any extended amount of time there.

I recall Star Lanes Arena being a much more organized and enjoyable place in the past. The decline in service, maintenance, and overall experience was evident throughout our visit. While the staff members we interacted with were polite, they seemed overwhelmed and underprepared to handle the crowd, which only added to the frustration.

If you’re considering a visit, I’d advise tempering your expectations. Unless you have the patience of a turtle (or perhaps a saint), this venue may not be worth your time or money in its current state. There’s potential here, but significant improvements are needed in organization, maintenance, and food quality to make it a worthwhile destination again.

For now, I’m giving Star Lanes Arena a 2-star rating. It’s not the worst experience I’ve had, but it’s far from good. Here’s hoping management takes note and works to restore this once-great venue to its former glory.

Rough experience here. Almost didn't go in because a crowd of less than pleasant looking kids crowded the entry door smoking weed. I was fine with it, but my guest was understandably uncomfortable. Then, when we get inside, we ordered hard seltzer from the bartender whom had almost zero people skills. Bar was empty. Then, I wanted to rent a lane and bowl, plenty of lanes available (about 75%) was utterly shocked to find out that they charge $70 per lane, per hour. 🤯 mind blowing. How and why? Was a definite no and we immediately made alternate plans. My guest is from the area and never heard of this place. After our experience, it was no wonder why. If you are going to pay that much for bowling, you might as well try out pinstripes and I'm guessing you would get much more bang for your buck. I can't believe anybody was even paying $70 an hour to bowl there. Best advice is to look at the stock pics on the reviews, and don't waste your time if that isn't your price point. Owners are gouging the neighborhood with that pricing, imo.

I felt like this was the worst customer service experience I’ve ever received. The people at the check in/rental desk made me feel so belittled, specifically about my name. Even after checking in to see if they called my name (I thought it was pronounced incorrectly over the loudspeaker) I felt I was being gaslit because they said it was not me. After approaching the desk for a third time they said they called me for a lane and I didn’t come up so I had to forfeit my spot in line and continue to wait. Mind you, I had already been there over an hour with two kids. I won’t be going back and would not recommend supporting this business 👎🏽

If it was possible to leave zero stars I would. My sister in law had the worst experience in this place and I wouldn’t recommend it to another soul. We went bowling and there was a wait for, even though there were multiple lanes open. The lady taking down my sister‘s name had trouble pronouncing it several times. After 30 minutes, she called my sister-in-law, but when my sister-in-law went to go check in they told her that she hadn’t been called yet. Once we noticed people coming in and receiving lanes immediately, we knew it was an issue. After waiting over an hour, she walked to check in again, and the ladies at the front desk told her that her name had been called already. We were there with my niece and her friend both 5 yers old who had never been bowling before, so we were really excited to be there. But the way that we were treated was unacceptable. And the ladies behind the desk did not apologize at all. My sister spent about $100 and they gave her $5 off. 0/10 would not recommend.
