We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Rivers and Roads Cafe including the huge and delicious birthday cookies, chamomile tea, and hot chocolate. It was also fabulous to listen to the charming Addie and Cole and spend time with the talented Floriography Fellows. Highly recommend all of this!

Wonderful, locally owned Coffee Shop and Cafe! They bake many of their own sweets! Friendly staff and the food is superior to other cafes! Try their Lox Bagel or BLT! They also have a walk-up window so you can order if you’re with your dog. My neighborhood favorite 😀

This place has a wonderful, friendly, outdoorsy, log cabin vibe that feels super authentic with all the National Park art, cool lighting, and extensive wood work that all came from the same huge 300 year old black walnut tree. They also play great music and the couple who run it are super nice. For the last 2-3 years I’ve been on a fun quest to visit as many independent coffee shops in Chicago that I can find, and of the 175 shops (to date!) I’ve been to, only 17 have made my favorites list. This is one of them. 🙂

The coffee here is so good. I love going to see the monthly specials every month. Staff is extremely kind, patient, and takes a lot of care despite being busy regularly. I love the garden bagels & other pastries are great too. They recently added some warm breakfast sandwiches to the menu which are awesome. Love Rivers and Roads!

I really appreciate the kind and polite nature of the baristas at River and Roads! Each time I’ve stopped in for coffee, whether it’s packed or light traffic, I’m treated so nicely that it can make my day a lot better.

Their specialty lattes are delicious, and they have several food options that I don’t regularly see at my normal coffee spots. I highly recommended River and Roads Cafe!

I'm so glad I found this gem of a cafe! The coffee is amazing, the pasties are delicious, and the sandwiches are unique and flavorful. The staff is warm and friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. I love that the cafe is decorated in a hiking-themed style, which reminds me of my favorite national parks.

I was especially impressed by the cafe's environmental consciousness. They use compostable straws and utensils, and they have a recycling program. I also appreciate that they offer a variety of vegan and gluten-free options.
