I recently had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at The Bridgeport Art Center, and I cannot recommend this venue enough! The industrial-chic aesthetic combined with the uniqueness of this venue provided the perfect backdrop for my couples wedding. The ceremony space was intimate and personal. The reception was lively, with an elegant ambiance that allowed guests to celebrate comfortably. The staff were incredibly professional, ensuring the event ran smoothly. As a photographer, I appreciated the stunning natural light and artistic elements throughout the venue, making it easy to capture timeless images. The Bridgeport Art Center is truly a one-of-a-kind venue in Chicago!

What a gorgeous building. I went specifically to see the shared floor's new space and was pleasantly surprised that on the third Friday of the month, many other studios are open. The building is beautiful. It's a great place to go if you want to buy cool, unique art or admire some beautiful art pieces.

This review will be very similar to another one recently posted, but we felt it important to also post about our experience to warn others considering this venue that the elevator issues were not just a one-time problem.

My husband and I chose Bridgeport Art Center's Skyline Loft for our wedding for a number of reasons, including the grand aisle with the skylight and beautiful inlaid wood floor, gorgeous city views, and large selection of approved vendors to choose from. The unique elevator with chandelier and champagne bar definitely tipped us over the edge. This was a unique aspect of the venue that we had not seen at any other wedding and were excited for our guests to experience it.

Bridgeport was even less accommodating to us that they seemed to be in the other review about elevator issues. We did not find out the elevator was broken until our wedding party arrived at the venue one hour before our guests were due to arrive. No one from the venue contacted me or my husband to explain the situation. We found out from the day-of coordinator we hired. I was extremely disappointed to find out one hour before my wedding when it was too late to do anything about it. This news was jarring and upsetting and mars my memories of the day.

We were not offered a smaller elevator that could still accommodate a bar and chandelier. The only option we were given was the back elevator that was dirty and industrial. This caused our guests to enter the Skyline Loft from the back and walk through the area where we had staged all of our dinner tables behind the ceremony space. It was far from the experience we had in mind for our guests.

Our venue contact reached out the Monday after our wedding to apologize and explain that they attempted to repair the elevator, but clearly, this is a recurring issue they experience.

Been coming to the open studios for a couple months now and it’s been fun every time! Friendly people, fun atmosphere, not to mention free wine (obviously a perk). But seriously. It’s a good time to go hang out with friends for free!

It was so great seeing all of the art. The space is large with tons of exhibits and super friendly artists. Every third Friday of every month there’s a showcase!

I love going to open studios here on the third Friday of the month. It’s a great way to see local artists and support their work. They allow you to bring your own drinks and often have free drinks there. Though the studios remain the same, they have rotating shows so it’s a different experience every month.
