I got the Pick Axe cheese burger with onion rings and gee golly it was delicious!!! First time going here at Prospector restaurant. The atmosphere there is gorgeous and fun to look around and they have a horse saddle to sit on for the kids or adults. My wife got the Coconut Shrimp with loaded potatoes and those little buggers disappeared!!! We are for sure going back!! ?

This is a great hidden gem! They’ve been open a couple of years, but I just recently heard about them and decided to try it out. The atmosphere is very cool with a country western mining theme. We were greeted by a kind elderly woman (owner maybe?) who gave us some good recommendations and seated us. We went for the prime rib, but they had just sold out. We got the combo appetizer with a little of everything. The appetizers were so good! I had the rib eye, and my main complaint was that it was more rare than I like with my medium rare steaks. It didn’t have very much flavor, either. I thought it was odd that it came with pickled mushrooms. I was not a fan of those. My wife had a burger that was delicious. The kids had chicken strips that were surprisingly tasty, as well. The service was excellent and our drinks were always full. HUGE portions and everyone had leftovers. Very affordable for the amount of food you get. Aside from the underwhelming steak, a great experience and we will be back!

Delicious food and amazing service! The tables can be full, but it is set up so that it doesn't get too noisy and you can actually talk to each other. Love this place for a date night, a night out with friends, or family dinner. They do meat and sides really well, and the pricing is more than fair. We've even ordered take out before, and that was delicious as well. Check the hours, they aren't open for lunch.

I have been here a couple time and I do say, this is a great place to eat! I would recommend it to anyone looking for some good ol' American home style food! I've had the wings and the Cajun blue cheese burger. The burger was delicious! Not dry and cooked just right. The wings are also excellent! Not a ton of flavors and a little pricey for the quantities, but still worth it!
Yesterday they had some shrimp wrapped bacon as a special side. They put some brown surgar on them and those were amazing! Both times I have gone, the staff has always been friendly and helpful. It's not loud and has a very nice chill atmosphere. It's nicely decorated to match the food served. I actually really like how they designed the restaurant. The food arrived in a timely manner and was nice and hot! I like places like this and I will definitely go back again and again!

This is a great local place. They are known for their prime rib and that's what I had. It was excellent and cooked perfectly! I also had the loaded baked potato and bacon wrapped shrimp. Everything was A+.

The atmosphere is relaxing and a little historical as well. Historical decor from the prospecting times of our Country make up the atmosphere

The service was fantastic. Lonnie, was my server and he was great. Friendly, calm, and on his game. I never had an empty glass of water and he checked back regularly. Lonnie, thank you for your service!

If you like prime rib and you're traveling through Pocatello, it's worth your time to eat here. Ask for Lonnie!

The atmosphere was homey and friendly. The food was tasty. I got the Chicken Teriyaki dinner and my date got the Round Up Burger. The tater tots were just the right amount of crispy and there was fry sauce for dipping. We will definitely go back again.

How had I never heard of this place?
The Golden nugget/ the prospector seams to have dropped straight out of the Fort Worth Texas stock yards. We found this Gem by accident when we were driving around looking for a restaurant to go to on Valentine’s Day.

UnBelievable food and Prices! The service was also great too! we no lie, got everything to our table within 8 minutes of ordering. Ditch Texas road house and steakhouse chains in Pocatello Idaho and support local places like this. 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
