Great climbing gym! They've got such a good variety of climbing options from cave and short wall bouldering to a 55-foot pillar! The pillar offers many routes from beginner 5.8 climbs to natural routes, lead routes, and ratings as high as 5.13 typically. There is one auto belay on the pillar and one on the shorter 24-foot wall which is great for learning, traversing and more.

The staff keep the gym fresh by reseting routes every 3-4 weeks (they chunk it by area/category so its not the whole gym restting ea. time). A good amount of time to project but keep it refreshing too!

Some of the walls need more hand and foot holds. As a shorter person there are some areas I can't overcome add a beginner. Still challenging and fun.

An excellent way to spend time on the Palouse, I feel very lucky to have such a nice facility available. They have really reasonable rates for non students, good rental gear and a helpful, well educated staff.
The routes seem to change about every 2 weeks which is long enough to work on a particular route and frequent enough to keep things spicy.

The gym has great potential, but after coming back, it seemed it was gone. Even beginner level problems were too far out of my reach, none the less for someone who is below 5’6. They seem to set to the wingspan of the setter as opposed to slightly below the average climber. Hopefully they can turn it around, as it is a fun gym and in a great location.

This facility is pretty great and the staff is very helpful. Before I walked in, I didn't even know how to tie a knot and I walked out knowing how to tie a knot. That's a pretty drastic change. The difference between nothing and something is an immeasurably infinite gap, but whoever was running the front desk that day bridged it.

I love this place! The natural light and variety of walls makes for a really good climb session. There are typically a lot more new routes in the fall, and it slows down a bit late spring/summer.

This is literally one of the best things on campus! A rock climbing set up! I mean how many other university campuses can claim to have one of these? That's the thing about University of Idaho. It's all about the wild spirit in you. The campus is built out to support physical activity. The surrounding country is just the same as are the mountains nearby. Anyone would just love living on this campus.

Plenty of bouldering and friendly staff. I really like how tall the tower is. It's especially nice for letting in sunlight when you near the top.

Rentals are cheap, staff if friendly and helpful.
