We were just passing through town, not even planning to spend the night. But it was getting late, and we still had 5 hours of driving ahead. We found this place on Google maps, and drove by to look. It was lovely! We called the owner, who was very nice, informative, and fun. He took our reservation while we stood on the front porch, then gave us the code. The room was very nice and cozy, clean and comfortable. Out the hallway door was a wrap-around porch on the 2nd floor where we had coffee the next morning. |We would definitely stay again!

Oh this hotel was soooo cute! First, I’ll start by saying that we stayed at the Franklin Inn the night before checking into the Old Carabelle because we decided to add on an extra night last minute. And entering the Old Carrabelle was a breath of literal fresh air after the other place. It was clean, super cozy, and just lovely. We had Captain’s Quarters. My favorite part was the little note that said “coffee is ready to brew!” It’s the little things that matter. We will certainly be back!

I must admit we were a little skeptical when we pulled into the 'parking lot'. But when we walked through the front door we were pleasantly surprised! Very nice! The check- in instructions were in a mailbox outside the front door, including the combination to the front door lock, wifi password and directions to our room (The Hemingway). We loved this place! and will try to stay there every year on our way to the Clearwater area. An added plus: We walked down into "town" (.2 miles) and went to Harry's Bar. Again, don't judge a book by it's cover! Very nice and friendly inside, and the food was very good. (Bar food: wings, burgers, eggrolls, fries, etc.) We HIGHLY recommend this hotel and this local, laid-back bar.

We loved our stay here! My husband booked this as a surprise trip for us, because he knew I loved Victorian style homes. The Old Carrabelle did not disappoint! The moment we walked in, the atmosphere took me back to childhood stays at my aunt's Victorian home. It is self-check-in, which I loved. The first night we were the only guests, so I did peek in at the other rooms, and they are all beautiful. We stayed in the one room downstairs. The bath is not attached, but there was a folding screen that stretched across the hallway so there was privacy for us. || We enjoyed a dinner and a breakfast at Mornin' Bite. Also, a wonderful seafood restaurant in nearby Panacea was Posey's Up the Creek Steam Room. We enjoyed the Nature Center in Eastpoint {Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve} and the Gulf Specimen Aquarium in Panacea. Carrabelle has some really cute shops, and we will definitely make another trip, and hope to stay at The Old Carrabelle Hotel again!

If you need a good quiet nights rest, " quait, charming", this is the place. Laid back old florida B&B style historic house with books & nooks & well decorated. I LOVED THAT! I slept very well, thank you, in an extremely comfortable clean bed. There was a shared minifridge & coffee pot in the hallway that works out just fine. Skip gives you meal cards for each day to use accross the street at carabelle junction, or walk half a block. It was my 1st ime staying in this TYPE of place & I absolutely loved the Regatta room. I felt safe & happy here. Like a " home" should be. It even smells delightfull. Skip was fantastic, real, & attentive. I would definitely love to be invited back.

We lucked up discovering this charming home. It was like going back in time to my grandfather’s house. It was so charming. We were just passing through for one night. Hopefully we will make it back one day and stay longer. I would love to visit in warmer weather and enjoy the outside area and the wrap around porch.

A fun interesting old hotel with great ambiance . We will definitely stay here when we return to the area. We stayed in the Hemingway Room which had a very large bathroom . The furnishings were perfect for a Hemingway like decor.
